The subject is great, and only those from India will perhaps appreciate the beauty of this motherhood scene.

 

The composition could perhaps improve with more experience.

This was my first attempt to cover a stage performance. I used a 70-

200 f/2.8 IS lens for this. I would like to get some feedback on what

others think.

He is an old man from a remote village in the northeast part of

India. I met him recently, and we were talking. I liked the simple

yet expressive gestures, and wanted to capture it. This was a

spontaneous shot -- he is not aware of me taking his picture at that

moment.

Took it when it was almost night, near a skiing place, and it was

rather deserted.

A child's lost in thought.

I noticed her sitting quitely, lost in thought, in the dimly lit room with one window, and so quitely got my camera and took this shot.

 

While it has obvious flaws, like background distraction, I liked this picture very much in that it captured something of my 2-year old daughter's childhood.

 

Am wondering if others too find something appealing in this, or is it just me !

Sorry, this is my first online picture ever, and I didn't have access to any image-manipulation software on my computer to reduce the size. But I just discovered my camera Canon 10D came with PhotoElements which I can use to reduce pictures. Will use in future.

What were the lens/shutter settings?

I wanted to capture the mood near the marina. While the rest of Bay

Area was sunny, and hot this summer day, mist was rising from the SF

Bay, and near the marina it was rather cool, and very beautiful late

evening.
