Arthur,
you find higher resolutions, when you click on the + sign at the upper right corner of the image and choose "original"
I hope, that helps.

Just in case, somebody doe's not know these sites:

I loaded 3 images from RAW in full resolution JPG for comparison of Leica M9 and Leica M Monochrom with Summilux 35/1.4 FLE@f/8

tripod, self timer 12sec.

exposure automatic with - 0.7 EV

no PP in LR4.1 at all

no sharpening in LR

no sharpening during LR JPG export

<a href=" M9
<a href=" m Monochrom, no filter
<a href=" M Monochrom with filter flter B+W 023 Dark Yellow
look for the size "original" with right mouse click
I waited for a cloud to avoid extra contrast from hard sun light and shadow.

I wonder, what you think :)
dierk

Francisco,
you are right!
(and I have been right before) The menu says something like optimization and that offers B&W in RAW mode. Last time I just looked at the monitor and it was B&W (like setting it in JPG). Now I looked at the RAW and it is in color, as expected.

Nozar, I got the MM from my dealer in Hamburg, it was the first one, he got. The second MM will arrive in two weeks for an other customer.
I bought me fist SLR Edixa Reflex in 1960s from his father :)

Ray, these images should not show, what you can make from the MM but what you get directly out of the camera!!!
These images are full res and anybody may feel free to play with them (as a few people where asking for).

I just loaded 2 images from today in full res.,
no +- exposure correction in the camera
no PP what so ever (no sharpen, exposure..., no sharpen for JPG export in LR 4.1)

the first one is a bit blurred, 1/60 sec. is too long, some PP could be ok, but I want to show, what you get directly out of the MM :)
(click on the images for full size)
<a href=" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8282/7850769948_ccaf490e85_z.jpg" alt="" width="426" height="640" />

one more

Nozar,
thanks for the hint!
I grabbed the camera at the dealer and let him mail the box to me. So I noticed two days ago, that Leica calls it Leica M Monochrom. I renamed my files and pictures before they are too many.
In the moment my M9 is collecting dust :)

Anuar,
are you asking, if it really is the Monochrom? Yes, it is, as the EXIF says.
And: it is the most aesthetic and pure camera outside and inside, I ever saw (and possessed) :)

-

Jake, thanks very much. After digging 5-10 minutes into the menus, I found it :)
But before the Leica MM I think, it was useless to store B&W from a Bayer Sensor and loose the ability to fine tune colors into B&W, like all the other posts explain perfectly.
Now I have to buy a complete set of B&W filters for my Leica lenses in many different sizes and in best quality:(

-

Arthur, I did that before but made some mistakes. So I will do it again, but the light and clouds are very bad in the moment. I will use the new Summilux 35/1.4 FLE with and without filter on the M9 and the M9M asap. :)
And I will post the RAWs, if I find a server for that.
I myself want to know, if the MM is worth the money?

DaSousa, "amazing" - you may be right :)
In October 2009, 3 weeks after I ordered the M9, I posted in the Leica forum the idea of omitting the color matrix and use plain B&W and wrote, that I would buy this Leica M. For me real photography is plain B&W. Now I got it and start to love it - an other smilie :)

Ray, therefore I posted some full res JPGs without PP. With these files everybody can find out, what is in the image.

Robin, the skies are just not made for photos in the moment :(

Federico, I did many shots for background texture overlay, but on this one I used one, witch I bought from here:

David,
even with a monochrom sensor from MaxMax on a Canon you still can't use the (my) dream Leica glass.
And I use it on the great NEX-7 as well including the Cosina-Voigtlander 12mm M :)
I will try the CV12mm on the M9M soon and wonder, what I get (no filter!)
and asap I will do and post images from M9 and M9M with/without filter in full res OOC.
till then

Jake,
you say "My in camera B7W are RAW not jpeg's" - I don't know of any camera, that does RAW in B&W, witch camera are you talking of?
I use always RAW and when I set the camera to B&W, this is only possible with RAW and JPG. The B&W option only generates an extra JPG file in B&W.
Two days ago I got my Leica M9 Monochrom and for the first time I get real B&W RAW and with higher resolution than with the RGGB Bayer array sensor.
If you are interested, you may find the first pictures here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dierktopp/
dierk

when I do the compareson of the M9 and the M9M for resolution, I will include shots without filter - BUT: in the old days of film you would never do a shot of nature and sky without a filter (see Ansel Adams books :)

Hi Leslie,
it is sure "mirrorless" but a bit OT :-)
as you like panorama, here is my Seitz Roundshot "takes up to 720° panos"

thanks, Leslie :)
I would not do pano with the NEX-7 pano function!
It is only JPG and you have no chance of correcting any strange effects like double images/persons/objects. I would always do (and did) single images in RAW and stitch them on the PC (with the free MS ICE or other like PTGui) - and you have the option of multi row panos.
what is RTW? :)

I love the NEX-7!
my D3 is collecting dust, since I got the Leica M9 - and the Leica starts to collect dust, since I got the NEX-7 :)
main reason:
I have big problems with my eyes (two operations up to now) and the focusing with the M9 is not easy for me.
I love the flip monitor for extreme perspectives, the flash contact for studio work, the focus pecking and magnification and the use of my great Leica glass on the 24 MPix!

just in case, that size matters :)

I got my NEX-7 yesterday and I tried my Leica lenses 18mm, 35mm Lux, 50mm Nocti and 75mm APO
and my new Sony 30mm/3.5 macro.
The 18 mm Super Elmar has some color cast.
The other lenses are still under investigation.
I am surprised about the performance of the tiny 138 gram 260€ Sony 30mm marco lens!
First shots with the 30mm macro and the 50mm/0.95 Nocti in my studio are here.

I normaly just count or use my watch. If you expose 10 sec. 8 or 13 is not so improtant, more important is to check the behavior of your film on long exposure times (in german 'Schwarzschildeffekt'). That gives you often much longer exposures.
my Leica M9 Monochrome arrived :)
