it does in photomatrix. have just tried with 5 wildly different exposures and have got a result but a very poor result. it still goes to the box 'manually set ev' does anyone know what this is?
-
it is 3 different photos taken using bracketing on a tripod. one is way over exposed, one is way under and the other is correct. i thought this was what you needed. they work ok in photomatrix hdr
-
am unable to get the hdr function to work in ps cs2.
i go to automate-merge to hdr. i select 3 images which are -2, +2 and the
correct exposure. when i press 'ok', instead of the images merging, the 3 images
open separately and a box comes up saying 'manually set ev'. no matter what i do
with this option, when i click 'ok' a box comes up saying 'merging to hdr' and
when it completes an alert comes up saying 'not enough dynamic range'
this is driving me mad as i'm not so keen on the effects of hdr photomatrix and
need to get this to work. anyone any ideas for what the problem may be?
any advice greatly appreciated.
cheers

hi
am wondering whether to spend the extra ?600 on the 24-105 L IS lense? is there
a huge difference in quality? its good to get the extra stops for photographing
weddings but is there much difference in the quality of the photo? am shooting
on a eod d and eos 10d
thanks

the cheaper camnera sounds like the way to go. is it worth spending the extra ?300 on the 30d over the 400d, or are canon about to upgrade the 30d? what is considered the best portrait lense in the ?400 bracket....won't an 85mm be long on the 400d (120mm)?
cheers for all the help. much appreciated

hi
i need to replace my canon 10d. i have 3 consumer lenses sigma 50mm, canon
90-300 and canon 28-105 3.5-4.5 usm. i am undecided between buying the canon 5d
or buying the 400d and the spending the excess money on a decent lense for
portaits. which option would give me the better quality of image? my main work
will be in portaits and some wedding work.
thank you

hi
i have been using my on camera flash on the eos 10d to trip my portaflsh studio
lights, using a piece of unexposed flim over the camera flash to negate it. this
works in that it triggers my studio light, but the light never shows up on my
photo. does anyone know what i am doing wrong? is it firing the light too
quickly or does this method just not work? what would be a decent e bay ir
trigger to use with this set up?
cheers

hi
any suggestions for what are the best batteries for a canon flash gun. my main
interest is that they have the quickest refresh rate. tried alkaline batteries
at a wedding and it was a disaster.....30 secong refresh. are the rechargable
nimh batteries the best for this? and does the higher mAh make any difference to
the speed of the flash gun refreshing and ready to fire?

cheers aagain for all this info. have contacted the companys mentioned and am awaiting their replies. this sounds like the way forward for me. any recommendations on good archival inks to put in these cartidges? do you use the inks from inkvillage helen? are they any good? which one do you use?
cheers again
paul

cheers helen , you are being a huge help here. any idea where i can buy these spongeless cartidges? can i just buy the 220 ml bottles of ink from permajet or epson and just keep refilling the cartidges?
cheers again

chad
can you tell me what spongless cartidges are, where i buy them and how they work? is it the same thing that helen is talking about? ie refillable cartidges that i just top up from a bigger bottle of ink? where did you buy them?
cheers

hi helen
that sounds like the way to go for me. so these packs for the epson 4000 fit and work well in the epson 2100? do they fit in the normal slots of the 2100 or is there some special way to connect them up?
cheers for the info helen. could save me a lot of hassle and money as i am a fairly sporadic printer at the moment.

hi
am in desperate need of getting a continuous ink system for my epson 2100. i
have obvious concerns about 3rd party systems, but these are the only ones i can
afford. has anyone in the tried a system that works well, doesn't clog the jets,
has no metaprism problems and gives good quality prints? i live in the uk so i
need one based over here. was going to buy permajet, but their sytem has went
from ᆪ150 to a new ᆪ300 system in the past month.
would appreciate any advice on this before i buy one.
cheers

i have scoured the net and can't find them. i am looking for a
website(preferably a uk one) that sells gloss/semi gloss/pearl fine
art inkjet cards to print onto. a5 is too small and a4 is too big!
what is the regular size that most people use for fine art cards?

china/hongkong? do they work ok and will they work with a portaflash
studio light?

<p>unfortunately in the uk the alien bees stuff is really expensive to buy. nearly £500 for the ring flash and £330 for the battery. excluding postage. you could be right about the bracket....it shows it on the photo but it doesn't seem to be included in the bundle you purchase.</p>
<p>http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270697709619?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649</p>
<p>any other suggestions for a decently prices option in europe?</p>
