1. go here: no-exif.com/2011/07/24/pentax-meter-fix. Before doing the adjustment, try cleaning the contacts w/a small piece of paper towel w/a drop or 2 of lighter fluid in case dirt or corrosion is the problem. Conversely, if the meter is always on, bend the top contact up slightly.
 2.
Just a heads up for anyone shooting slides. Sometime ago, I bought 8 mailers from Unique photo for $10.30 per + free postage via the USPS. I checked their site today & now they want $9.98 shpg. ( UPS). Using the mailers was a convenience but w/those shpg. charges I ll just send 2 or more rolls @ the same time to Dwayne's.

 3.
After posting this, I found an ad from Adorama on ebay stating they were good until 12/31/17.

 4.
Anyone have an idea how much longer Fuji will continue to honor their slide processing mailers?
TIA Don

 5.
Could be the blue wind gear & the intermediate gear which is on a plate are out of sync.. The IG sometimes loosens up & causes this type of problem. U can check by removing the base plate. If the IG is moved away from the blue gear slightly, it can cause a hard wind stroke. Not a hard fix but best left to a camera tech.

 6.
I'm interested in the mailers. Pm me.
TIA Don

 7.
Anyone used wally world lately to send slides to Dwayne's? Curious as to the turnaround times.
TIA Don

 8.
Precisa is respooled Fuji Provia. I've used both & they are very fine films. Grain/sharpness about the same as Elitechrome. Its the only choice now in an asa 100 slide film. No complaints on it's quality from me.

 9. I won"t send anymore E6 thru them as the last roll took 3 weeks for return. WM states it is a 2 week turnaround on their drop off site. 3 calls to Fuji resulted in 2 "we have no record on this" & 1 "we process here (somewhere in the south)". Cost was almost $12 w/sales tax. That + 2 trips to the store has soured me on using WM. Now I'll mail a few rolls @ a time direct to Dwayne's.
 10.
LOOKING at the spring loaded shelf in all 3 pix, it appears that in the 1st photo the shelf hasn't risen as much as in the next 2 photos. This shelf has the foam mirror damper on the bottom. Some SRT models had a mirror lockup lever on the front panel that was about 1/4" in diameter. In its center there were iirc, 2 thin ribs. I think in normal operation these ribs were vertical. You turned the lever so they were horizontal to raise the mirror up. This feature was to reduce any mirror shake on long exposures. If your camera has 1, it would be to the left of the self timer lever. from what I can see, the foam looks to be ok altho a telltale sign of bad foam would be a discoloration on the front of the mirror.

 11.
U can rule out the camera by setting the shutter to B. Open the camera back & fire the shutter looking thru the back. Mirror should rise all the way up. SRT's have a spring loaded shelf that the mirror strikes on it's up swing. Does your model have a mirror lockup? if so, check that that the 2 bars on it are perfectly vertical.
