  1. Hello,

maybe someone could help me in some colormanagement

questions, especially with the canon 10D

    (1)

So my first question is, do you know why the color profile

    AdobeRGB taken in RAW

doesnt show up in photoshop, when I open the tif picture. I can

    asign AdobeRGB to

it manually, but is that the same? I think so.

Is it true, that it doesnt matter, if I photograph in the Adobe RGB

    or the sRGB

mode, as far as I select the Adobe RGB in the canon software

    RAW convertion afterwards? Because

when I use the canon RAW software, there is the possibility to

    select the color space

to Adobe RGB or sRGB. so I wonder if the picture I have taken in

    sRGB RAW is also

taken in the wider color space and is just "color cropped" when I

    make a sRGB TIF

and not a Adobe RGB TIF out of it.

you see, I got the problem, that I dont know if the decission for

    the smaller color space

sRGB is done when I photograph in this sRGB RAW parameter

or if there is the possibility

to decide to AdobeRGB afterwards on the computer without

converting and the loss of color

, because the picture coming out of the camera is absolutely

basic and similiar all the time,

whatever I have chosen at the time of the shot on the camera

    settings.

Because there is one big advantage, when I extract the sRGB

JPG, there is no sharpening and

color manipulation automatically done because the sharpening

and color parameters on the 10D

in sRGB can be set to -2, in Adobe RGB they are automatically

set to standard 0.( so in Adobe

RGB there is pre-sharpening in the extracted jpgs.

for a fast workflow I would like to have beside the basic RAW,

    also this fast extracted jpg

without automatic modulation for fast internet sending to the

    customers.

Do you know also something about the linear function put on or

off in the RAW converting software settings.

    Best regards from Hamburg

  2. hello,

anyone got experience in comparing adobe sRGB and the

    smaller sRGB.

i am thinking about selling my fuji s2 and buying a canon 10d,

because the canon gives me the possibility to choose between

    adobe sRGB and sRGB.

i dont know why, but it is not mentioned often, but i guess this is

a heavy reason if a photo is printed in good quality or excellent

    color quality.

also i need to know : when i open the canon 10d RAW picture in

    photoshop as a tif, is it a 16bit or a 8bit photo?

    thank you

    marc

  3. hello,

i am using at the moment th fuji s2 for fahion, product and

    architecture.

i guess i will change my system to canon 10d, because of the

possibility of choosing the adobe rgb instead of the small srgb.

in order to work fast it is very important for me to know how long it

takes, that a just taken picture appears on the lcd display.

also i need to know how long it takes to convert a raw into a tif file

with the canon software and if there is a automatic workflow to

convert a whole folder to tif.

    thank you

    marc
