I personally find this images works better in B/W than the colour version. The colours around the eyes are too off-putting - and for me were too strong a juxtaposition with the colour of her hair; which hints at the elf spirit within.
A bit of of mischievous look in the eyes... or a slight smile would help pull off the 'elf' look.
The background lighting also helps enhance the 'glow' especially in B/W.

I think there are a lot of comments - some constructive critiscm but in the end most people do not *hate* this picture... Perhaps a lot see it with a jealous eye or 'i feel i could do better if only i had thought of it'... unfortunately human nature has a tendency to be negatively judgemental. David : DO NOT give up! - glow in the warmth of the good comments you have received - you have many more than most people!.

For me this is an excellant photo - and truely inspires ideas in others. Perhaps there are ways people could improve it - I wish them good luck in doing so and still managing the scene in the same way.
A good photo to me should capture an essence which makes you feel like you want to be there in the picture as well... well done. I also like many of your other photos...
[Perhaps one day I will get around to sorting out my portfolio so I too could be a prisoner for a week]
The Chase

When I first saw this picture small; the horses and riders to the right looked like a characterized cartoon-ish old man chasing the horse ahead.
Technically it is a fantastic shot but the compositions allow so many more images to be generated by the silhouettes of the horses. For example the top and middle horse provide the outline of a dogs head, with the riders helmet / face as the eye.
The leg of the middle horse ties into the green trunk of the lower rider, giving the impression of a flowing cape.
I think with some colours / compositions and tweaks you could make a lot out of this picture. Real inspiration for others.
