    la grande découpe

This is very clever and it captivates the imagination. The child at the top appears to be hanging on to a rope or something, not hanging by her neck. I think some you need to see my shrink. I agree that the foreground star should be taller than the trees and the child should be more lifelike. But don't get me wrong, those are nitpicks and I love it! It reminds me of something out of Cirque du Soleil.

    Red Lips

The red lips detract from this photo. It draws attention to her lips while the best detail is in her hair and headdress. If this were all BW I'd give it 6/6. It has a very lovely exposure and gray tones.

I think that if you'd crop off most of the top of the picture it would be a lot stronger. Try a square crop and see what you think. Just by scrolling it off my screen and seeing it cropped off makes this a much stronger image. Cropped, I'd give it a 6/6.

Hi Jenny, I'm skimming through the critique forum to find my favorites, and this one is definitely it! The deep blue at the bottom is nicely echoed in the top of the frame, and the orange is a vibrant counterpoint. This is a creative capture with an excellent crop and excellent movement throughout the frame. A very delicate, thoughtful image. Nicely done!

Hi Javier, thank you for commenting on my photo. I looked at the photos for which you have requested critiques, and this is my favorite. It is very impressionistic, and the gray tones are beautiful. You do lovely b&w work. Best regards, Jeanne

Hi Marios, thanks for the comments on my photo. I appreciate you taking time to tell me your thoughts. To clarify what I meant about this photo, I think that the light squares on the sides draw the viewer's eye away from the central image (the face and the two figures in yellow). Because the central image is the most dynamic part of this photo, I suggest cropping each side off just past the subject's toes. However, it is your artistic interpretation that matters, so please forgive me if I am not seeing your vision. In any case, I think this is a very interesting and creative photo.

The vertical part of the image above the unbrella is distracting. It would look better against all black with a tighter crop. Also, the umbrella's tie-back at the bottom of the picture should be turned to the left so it is out of the frame. Don't get me wrong though, I love this image. The white is perfect. Nice going.

Hi Lukas, this is an excellent composition. It really works that you show three doors with the Rayburn name as a counterpoint. Nice color too. Great work!

Wow, very op art! Perfect cropping. An interesting image. The whites are great - nice and white yet not blown out. Great work.

Wow, this is stunning. The gray tones and texture are gorgeous. The lighting is perfect. This should be in a gallery asking a high price.
