  1. Thank you Tom - but i was under the impression this Ambilight feature is capable of glowing a different colour corresponding to the edge of the screen that it is by... in simple terms if the top of the picture is blue and the bottom green the this is reflected in the lighting around the screen... throw in a yellow sun in the top left of the screen and again this is reflected in that part of the screen...
  2. I have noticed that the final images i have finished working on in PS lacks

some punch once uploaded to photo.net and indeed when not veiwed in PS? Is

there any reason for this? does it have anything to do with the colour space

i'm using 'Adobe RGB'? What is the difference between Adobe RGB & sRGB? Any

comments please.... my digital images look so much better n PS? regards, Ewan

    (i'm new to digital!)

  3. Thanks to all your comments chaps... been a great help... but i'm still struggling to come to a decision... i'm sure once i do i'll be happy. I wonder if anyone has any experience of the Sigma 17-70? I've heard it is good but bad copies are a-plenty! I should have mentioned that the 24-135 Sigma i currently own is for a Pentax fit. The 17-55 (canon) IS does look good but feel it may not be long enough... i guess this would be similar to 35mm kit lens in range? I'm pulling my hair out. Thank you again... why can't my fairy godmother appear with a 5D & 24-135...!
  4. I currently use 35mm film camera with a 24-135mm Sigma. This to me is the

perfect range for on the move photography. I am about to purchase a 30D and am

looking at one lens to start off with... the closest i could find to my

preferred range is the 17-85 IS (canon) but i have read pretty bad reviews of

this lens.... so i guess this leaves me with the Sigma 17-70.... or does it?

any ideas or comments on either of those lenses or indeed any other would be

    greatly appreciated... Regards, Ewan.
