Not much of a review... Just wanted to let you know I love this shot!
-
that inner glow is too distracting and it takes away from the picture.

This is the full frame (as opposed to the panoramic version which has been deleted). give me your thoughts and suggestions please.
Thanks.

"Very brave gull." ... or maybe just a very stupid gull.
great image.

Hey Audie..
I don't know if you saw my reply to you ( in the cabin shot) but yea... This is indeed north of you :) i'm surprised you can recognize the particular place.

Intersting shot, don't know about the 7/7 though...it is a little over exposed...

Audubon.First of all thanks so much for all the comments you left. I remember looking at your site before heading out there.
Please do let the owner know about this shot... that should be intersting.
The Denali HWY was the prettiest ride in the state (for me) and i'm really glad we didn't follow the car rental company's rules when it came to gravel roads.
From Paxson we took the Rich. to Fairbanks, that rainbow shot must have been about an hour north or so from you (I may be wrong)...
and yes, the weather was amazing.
i have a ton of 6x9 negs that I need to scan, many of them from your area...
Thanks for checking these out, and the comments were a joy to read :)

Beautiful scene Ignacio.
if you're looking for a way to improve this shot in photoshop i'd say fix the levels (Auto Levels would do on this one) to get the white snow whiter... and run an unsharp mask as it seems a little soft... just an idea.
keep up the great work.

i'm sorry, pea pod comment was just too funny!
I like the cropped version even better. beautiful shot either way.

Wow Scott.
It looks like a surreal painting. I love it.
great composition and mood!

Ruth,Fun shot.
if it was mine i'd probably compose it a little tighter (or crop) and correct the colors and Curves in photoshop.

sad to realize he's gone.
this is how i would have presented it if it was my shot. (good angle by the way!)
-
Joey, I think having the reflection wear something else may make it more obvious and intersting.
just my 2 cents.
-
It's so... "retro", is that the word i'm looking for?
-
how could i have made this have been better in your opinion?
-
Hey Simanta.
We came across this scene when driving by, this was the way it was, no one around and the boat was just laying there (it's owners not too far i'm sure).
I'm not kidding when i tell you i was so excited to see it almost brought tears to my eyes. and that night it was hard to fall asleep cause I kept thinking about what i should have done. did i not bracket enough, did i lose the clouds...anyway, you get the point. it really was an amazing scene to see and photograph. Thank you for you kind comments! your portfolio really has some very nice things!!!

kol hkavod,
would make a nice black and white.. did you consider a squre crop to eliminate the black on the side?
-
the only thing that "bothers" me about this shot is the little lake that sits right on top of the cabin (almost connects with it)... Obviously something i did not notice when composing.
sure it can be easly cloned out, but it's a shame... does it bother anyone else? other then that, how do you like the shot?
-
Very powerfull eyes. I personally do not like the symetry of the leaves... they distract, and I had to look for an explination as to what they were. I like the shot otherwise...
hope this helps, though I doubt it
