1.
Hey Nicole,
I don't really have the answer you were looking for, but just giving you a heads up...
If she ever googles her name this page will come up. Don't forget these pages are indexed by search engines, so even if your own clients search your name they will come across any of these posts.

Just something to keep in mind. Good luck with the cards.

  2. Alan, took me a second to get it... apology accepted, that one was bad :0)

Thanks Bob, I'll make sure. The beauty of this trip is that I'm flexible, I'll make sure I have some back up destinations (which is kindda what this thread is about) I will be going solo on this one, and so changing plans will be easier if need be.

Beautiful Shot William, I'll be sure to check the site.

Any particular spots in the park that I should try to get to, Any favorite hikes or destinations?

Where else should I look into besides the park?

    Thanks guys.

  3. Hi Everyone,

Just booked a 6 day trip to Colorado, Landing in Denver on May 8th.

So far all I know is that I plan on spending at least 2-3 days at RMNP, the

rest is up in the air.

I will be doing some book research, but usually prefer advice from real people

    on this site better.

Aiming for some great hiking/camping and landscape photography locations.

Where would you go, and what should I expect. Snow at higher altitudes I assume?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.

  4. I have a client with a bunch of proofs and no sign of the studio she used a

    few years ago.

Google searches turn up this number: (516) 367-1428 which is disconnected.

I know they used to own the domain: NorthShoreStudios.com.. is there any way

    to grab outdated whois info?

If anyone happens to be local to long island, and has any idea how she can

reach Diane of North Shore Studios that would be greatly appriciated.

5. That time of year again...
Just booked a trip to California, the plan is Yosemite (2 nights... was there

same time last year), and 2 nights in each Sequoia and Kings Canyon.

Just wonder if you have any general input about where you like to stay in those

parks... particularly in Sequoia and Kings Canyon (and what's the best spots to

hike and photograph)... do you think I need to make reservations for camping?

The dates are May 9th to the 16th.

Thanks in advance,
Roy.

  6. try this:

    A) make sure the sync cord on the camera is plugged to the input that's marked "camera/flash" (on the PW).

    B) on the flash try moving it to the other input (meaning try both... technically i don't think this should make a differnce).

    Just something to consider.

  7. Can't you just switch to Manual focus? Otherwise i would think the AF lock would do the trick... Sorry if i'm not understanding you right.

If you're trying to have the camera focus by itself and then fire i don't think that is an option (meaning you have to set the focus and jump in)

  8. Mark...
Just a heads up...

photo.net and www.Photo.net aren't the same thing... you may be logged in to the www.photo.net but if you visit the other you're not.

That's what i was told when i asked why i have to keep signing in, and found out that was true.

    Good Luck.

  9. Hi Lucia
I'm not a Canon user, so take my advice to a limited degree... But:
It's not like you're comparing the same camera (20D Used Vs. New)...

You're comparing a USED older camera, to a Brand new camera of the newer generation.( be the improvements as small as they may be)
For me this would be a very easy decision... It would only make me feel better about getting the 30D.

Warranty (Peace of mind), Bigger LCD, and that Brand new feeling are enough reasons alone(for me) to jusify the difference in price.

whatever you end up with, Enjoy it :)

  10. for what it's worth...

when I usually upgrade, it's never the processor.. it's always something along the lines of more Memory or a new/larger HD.
So I usually go right away for the good processor when buying a new machine(i don't know how simple it would be to upgrade one).

Also... At one compUSA in my area I saw a whole bunch of computers being sold As open box items... the prices were significantly lower than originally, so maybe you can look into that ( I know best buy has them sometimes also, with a 30 day return policy)

    good luck,
11. Any advice would be appriciated...

My Imacon Flextight 343 is on its way to me, and I need to order a

carrier to scan my 6x9 slides.

Just wondering, do i have to cut my negs into singles? I currently

have them in strips of 2... If so, can I buy a 6x17 carrier and just

load them uncut and only scan one neg. (is the 6x17 more expensive?)

Also... I see there are 2 different versions: 6x9(57x90) and 6X9A

(57x88) any idea which one is closer to what you get out of the

GSW690 (I'm at work, can't measure at this moment)

    Thank you
