I recently sold my 28-135mm and replaced it with the 17-40mm and 70-200mm f4. Both lenses appear to provide higher contrast and sharper images.
The trade off is added weight and length (in the tele), but I think it was worth it.

I just bought a 70-200mm f4 to augment my 17-40mm and had to give up my Lowepro Nova 2 due to the increased length of the tele. I bought a Tamrac Pro 5 which holds the tele mounted with plenty of room for the wide angle. I only have one camera (20D), but it looks like there may be room for another body. It's a nice bag with plenty of pockets for batteries, CF cards, etc.
I recommend that you take everything you want to carry to a camera store and test drive the new bag before buying. If you don't have any local stores that carry a large inventory of bags, you may want to order on line. Make sure you order from a reputable firm that will accept returns if the bag isn't right for you. I did that when I got the Nova 2.
Good luck!

Both Tamron and Sigma introduced 18-200mm lenses last month that you may also want to consider. I'm waiting for the reviews to come in and may buy one.

You may want to consider one of the new 18-200mm lenses just introduced by Tamron and Sigma. I have the Canon 28-135mm and an waiting for the reviews on these lenses with the objective of buying one. The 20D range would be 28-300mm.

I bought a battery for my new 10D from E-bay for around $14. It also has more power than the OEM Canon battery. I've only used it a couple of times, so I don't know how it will hold up. However, I also bought third party batteries for my Fuji 6900 from E-Bay and they were as good as the OEM's.

You may also want to consider the Tamrac Pro 5. I just bought one for my 20D which it holds with the 70-200mm f4 attached and also holds my 17-40mm with lots of room for more stuff. I don't have the battery grip, but the case appears to have plenty of room.
I recommend you take your gear to a store that carries these bags to try them out to see what fets best.
