  1. Thanks for the new posts. OK, I am sold on the stabalization-good thing because I already own it. I ran some tests shots myself, balls on a dimly lit pool table, and same thing-SR shot were noticeably sharper. It was kind of a "hey, how did it do that" moment. Good stuff. Justin, thanks for the test shots and comments. Thanks Bulent! Daniel-nice shot-especially in low light and handheld!
  2. Perfect. All seems to be well with the cam. Thanks so much for your help. I tried some very low light shots last night and was pleasantly surprised. I hold the camera very still naturally, but could still see a difference between the with and without image stabilization. I ran several test shots and all the same thing. Very neat. LOL...right Debbie, that thought crossed my mind a few times as well - a difference of 5.5 grand or so. Andrew, Debbie, and Scott, thanks!
  3. Greetings all. Hope your shooting is going well. About 2 hours ago I entered

the "Pentax" family and after about 200 test shots couldn't be happier-might

even say I am in love. Just a quick question to other K100D owners or anyone

familiar with shake reduction. When I activate the SR switch, I see the SR icon

on the view finders and menus (signifying that it is on), but I do no feel

anything in the camera moving. Should there be a sound coming from the camera

or some vibration or something to indicate that SR components are working? Or

is not possible to "feel" anything happening when SR is on. My only other

experience was with a 6,000 dollar Canon set up my friend let me use. When

Image stabilization was activated there, it was like the camera was moving in my

hands to compensate. Just want to make sure I am not having technical

difficulties/malfunction with my new cam. Thank you very much to all who

    respond. Much appreciated!

    Jeff

  4. Bas and Scott,

Thanks so much for your input. I feel a LOT more comfortable now. If the fear of crossing the world to find out you are out of batteries doesn't give you goosebumps, well. Anyways, thanks a million for your help. Scott, yes it is South Korea. Good luck on a summer of great shooting to the both of you.

    Jeff

  5. I searched the archives without much success, so I am hoping that a

few people might be kind enough to share their experience. I am

going to be shooting some images in Korea, but seem to have a slight

problem. My camera's use rechargable batteries, specifically Canon

NB-1lH. My charger is for the USA. My question, what have those out

there done in this situation, or do you know a link that might help.

Many of the converters I have seen say "not for use with computers,

battery rechargers, etc...". Any counsel, advice, or personal

experience would be most helpful. Thank you very much for you time

    and experience. Jeffrey.
