Bright, sunny day -- I shot with flash in backlight and used an
off-camera cord to move the 430EX away from the camera.

I am not really fond of shooting in bright sunlight. The harsh
contrasts and too wide dynamic range usually result in pictures which
look I just don't like. But when I have to shoot in this condition, I
often use controlled flash as my main light and position the subject
in backlight.
