I see that you have used a grad ND but that transition (visible in the ocean) is not really a problem for me (though that does account for the difference between the sky and its reflection).

Perhaps the white line along the coast is just a sharpening artifact?

There is a very noticeable white line along the coast that is coming from a mask issue. Is this a composite of two different exposures (or conversions)? The nice lit foreground together with the detail in the sky and near the sun make this an effective shot but I find the transition too abrupt somehow. Also the reflections of the sky are much brighter than the sky itself.

The level doesn't bother me much but the halo around the tree bothers me. I like the composition and the effect of darkening the sky but you need to take more care around the tree on the left. Since the tree is darker than the sky you should be able to make a complicated mask for the tree but boosting the contrast and using the burn and dodge tools. That would avoid the which mars (for me) an otherwise lovely picture.
  1. This was taken during a rain shower. The weather had kept me indoors for too long and I needed to photograph something. This was taken in my parents backyard a few feet from cover. The rich colours come from the very diffuse lighting coming from the completely cloudy sky.

I like this shot but would have tidied the background behind the flower (a single piece of yellow or green card would do). I am not sure that the coffee cup adds much to an otherwise stunning image. Is the liquid glycol ?
  2. This shot was taken as the sun set (actually at 6:49:09 PM). The swan is illuminated by a 550EX flash. The catchlight is lost in the resizing. Also visible on the full print are a host of water droplets on the swans head.
  3. My first ever macro photograph. Amusingly the site I consulted for the name insists they don't grow in the Southern Hemisphere. I guess no one told this dandelion, nor any of his thousands of cousins that grew all over the lawn in my youth.
  4. These bottles are from the Johanneshof Private Reserve. They are stored in a cool and damp cave. The bottles have corresponding metal tags since the damp promotes fungal growth and the fungi consume the labels. The "wax" on the right is in fact a large fungal growth.
