Everything that Barry said....plus...I think you need to raise your camera position, so that you're not shooting up her nose, it's not very flattering.

Nikon FM2, F4, with 105, 28-85 zoom, all used with Fuji 160 film.

Carlos.....
Calumet had (and may still have) a good DVD entitled "Portrait Light Techniques" with Bobbie Lane.
If you can't find it on their site, let me know and I'll send it to you for the shipping cost.

When I did (small) families in my studio, I used muslins that were 9 ft. wide. Muslins are extremely "transportable" ; simply throw them in a large garbage bag. I don't know how one would transport a 9 ft.wide piece of "seamless paper in a sedan.

You might talk with "Minds Eye" for ideas and possible prices.

You might check with John Sharpe at (403)266-4153

A good one that I purchased a number of years ago is:
"Master Posing Guide for Portrait Photographers", J.D. Wacker;
and was published by Amherst Media. I haven't checked, but; it may be still in print and available thru Amazon.com ?

Thanks, Barry.....
Makes sense to me!

Barry.....
If you were to use a 36x48" softbox, would you turn it to the horizontal position? Just curious.

One of the best is Brooks Ayola, of Chatsworth CA. You can do a Google search, as I don't have the URL handy.

Sometimes there is no "team" (less distractions), and one I can think of that is very good on basic lighting for portraits is by Bobbi Lane called Portrait Lighting Techniques and is sold thru her site as well as Calumet's site. I have no connection with Ms. Lane, just enjoy the subject of Portraiture!

I require the "session fee" in advance in order to reserve the time and day. "No shows" forfit their fee.
Barry is correct in everything he mentions in his post!

If Lynn Jones recommends it...you can take it as Gospel!

I'm really not certain of the price. Guessing less than $200. You might get an idea by Googling "FotoBiz" or Cradoc Corp.
-
Linda.......
You might look into Fotoquote/FotoBiz. These are both integratd into one program by Cradoc Corp. I'm not sure what the price is, as I've had mine for several years.
The prices for usage are based on a lot of factors such as: Size of the photo, length of time the photo is used, and placement (front cover, inside usage etc.).
Don't forget...journalistic usage may not pay as much as advertising; but, IT DOES PAY! You should be compensated for all usage.

John's agreement (It's standard Copyright Law info.) would be commonplace in almost all of the Commercial world!
If you're going to be doing busines in the Commercial/Editorial Worlds; you migth as well, be doing it correctly and legally!
Bravo John, for sharing that "license" with those who need to learn.
