I don't think Duane / Dakota is abusing the system per se. I think it speaks much more to the difficulty of having pictures posted on photo.net receive any attention at all. I know there are literally thousands uploaded weekly and it is tricky to get viewed. One would hope that a good image would be all that it takes but that doesn't seem to be the case. I've spent a lot of time on the gallery watching my images disappear while other (IMO) poorer shots like kitty cat snap shots go into what seems like a long rotation on the random recent photos. I would have to say that 98% of my images disappear within 20 to 30 minutes while others are there for what seems to be several hours. Is there a formula? Not all higher rotation photos are from Patrons...so how are the rotation photos selected. Is it possible to be on the "elves" bad side and suffer always without knowing why.

Anyway, I don't condone Duane's actions but I do think they are borne of frustration. Maybe photo.net should be Patrons only and if I knew my images would get a fairer shake I'd join up. Right now I'm dubious.

Something's up. All my requests for critique stick at 10 ratings. Obviously it is no coincidence the site only displays pictures with over ten ratings. Occasionally some poor schmuck falls over one of my photos and sticks a rating in boosting the thing up out of the nether world.

Further to this whenever I request a critique a notice is sent to the same hapless crew of "no uploaded images" that fall all over themselves for smiling baby, contorted cat images. What gives?

Of course I haven't sent my 25 bucks in either...
