Am facing the following: I own the 1dx mark 2 and sinds recently I still use my 1ds mark 3 and 1d mark 4 as back up cameras. Still

attached to the 1DS in particular but wonder whether it is about time to replace. So wonder what I should consider as a back up of the

1dx. My thinking is to sell the 2 above and replace with the 5d mark Iv. Any comments/suggestions/alternatives welcome. Thanks

<p>Am kind of in a luxury ( happy ) position. I just got a new 1Dx at a great deal. I have a 1Ds Mark III and a 1D Mark IV. So I wonder what to do. Sell both and maybe go for a 5D Mark III as a back-up or just keep either the 1D Mark IV or the Ds Mark III.<br>

When I take a picture without lens and just the camera cap on the picture turns out fully black. So is this a sensor issue or a shutter blade not working? See above a link of what I saw. I uploaded it just for illustration.</p>

A couple of days ago I noticed that pictures I take horizontally have a white band on the top of the picture and a band on the left side of the picture if I do a vertical shot. Any explanations for this ? Kindly advise<br>

<p>I am using Aperture successfully for a couple of years now, but wonder whether there is a value of using iPhoto as well. I do all my work on Macs and every time I see the upgrades I wonder whether it makes sense start using it. For example to have my family pictures/events having separate from a more formal/professional use of aperture. Currently I use Aperture for everything..<br>

What are, besides the increase in Megapixels and apparently better battery capacity major upgrades? I consider the 1ds as a back-up to

my 1D Mark III primarily for portrait and possibly landscape photography.

I`d like to start a professional looking website for my picture with an option to sell. There are a lot of

options. So how to make a choice? What is your experience with photoshelter and printroom? I`d like also

a feature so people can buy/download pictures outside the US where I live.

All advise is welcome.

Need a solid backpack that can carry 2 bodies ( 1D MIII ) and another and also fits for my Canon 500mm

and 70-200mm + 2 smaller size lenses,flash and tripod with Sidekick. Want to use it for longer hiking

trips.

Backpack should ideally be weather proof. Also, carrying my Mac Book Pro what be a nice feature but this

is not a must.

Please advise.

I`m considering the wireless transmitter for my 1D Mark III but first would like to get your

experience/feed-back.

Strenghts/Weaknesses. Worthwhile the investment. When do you use and in what situation. Where do you

see its highest value, also compared to possible other wireless options?

I try to set the external speedlite control function/flash function setting on the body but it doesn`t work.

It always says "attach a speedlite with functions controllabe from the camera..If I click OK nothing

happens but it returns again to the menu.

I assume and it is my understanding that the EX series and the 550 EX are compatible.

Please advise.

Just bought a new Gitzo 6x carbon tripod and a new Mrkins ball head. I plan to go to the shore this

weekend (NJ). Kindly advise how to take care of the tripod and ball-head in sandy ( and salty ) conditions.

What about sand and tripod legs. Do you protect?

do you have the clamp that comes with the Markin or also other brand. My biggest is a 500mm Canon.

I`m about to order the M-20 ballhead from Markins. Any recommendations whether to buy with their

clamp and plate system or does anybody have experience in combining this ballhead for example with RSS

clamp and plates.

has anyone experience with the new RRS ballhead BH-55? I`m in need for

a new ballhead to support long telelens (500mm). How does it compare

with the Acratech and/or B1?

I recently bought a great Canon 500mm 1:4.5 L . I`m not sure yet on

the best tripod head for this lens. Is a Wimberley head the best

choice or will a sidekick be sufficient? Will a very good ballhead be

OK? I will mainly use it for nature photography and sports

(outdoors-soccer etc.)

Are there significant differences between a Wimberley Head and a King

Cobra?
