  1. I am having lots of fun in PS making up graphics for our new MINI

Clubman. We have named the car Katana and placed an image of

one above the letters. I did a sloppy job on the sword but it was

quick to do and gives me a image of what it might look like. I

moved the sword all around and like this shot the best. What do

you think? I know I have Mini Mania bad.

This file of photographs is about a Bronze Sculpture created by Alaskan artist Gene Stotts of Palmer, Alaska. It is truly a world class creation. It works very well from many different angles and close ups. It is displayed in front of the collage and the background of the building does get in the way of photographing it. I have one image in this series in which it has been cloned out and fine art image was made of it which has been in my portfilo for sometime now. I have wanted to complete this presentation of this sculpture for along time now. So here it is. I hope you enjoy it. I spent hours shooting this with film and my Nikon 990 digital camera. I love the many close up absracts within the piece and loved finding so many different compositions. Please view the entire series in my portfilo. This is the shot I am putting up for comment is to show the series. This shot is not great with all the background distractions etc. But it does show the Sculpture in one of its angles.
  2. Very good job on this one Karen. It does remind me of a Dante Gabriel Rossetti painting. Which is a very good thing. This is the type of work I would like to do with models myself. Very romanic and moving. I have not been doing much in the way of photography lately, we have not been out on our boat this year. Plus I am a bit burned out on it at the moment. Thanks again for your comments on my work. All the best.

I live in Alaska and have traveled all over Prince William Sound in my own boat, and have taken many glaicer photos. and I have to say that this a nice one, I like the way the glaicer moves across the frame and the cloudy mist above it. You have nice Alaskan shots.

Thank you both for your kind words. Its nice to know that you too are keeping an eye on my work. I have not done much since fall. I have a new to me mint D200 that I hope to work with when summer gets here. But I don't know how much boating we are going to do because we are selling the boat this summer we hope. Going back to sailboats. We just like them better and you have the wind for power and an engine as well. Hope all is well with you both.
  3. The image was very moveing even before I read the title, which brings it all together. Reminds me of a stone circle of standing stones. The mood of the shot tells it all.The trees seem to bare witness to the lost child. I love moody shots like this. Well done and welcome to photonet!

But I have to agree with Simon. There is to much darkspace in the image try cropping the dark space on the left to about half of what is there. This still keeps the photo with your main subject on the far right and not centered. This is a good sample of how to use the rule of thirds
  4. Thanks for your kind words for now and in the past. Thats just what I was doing looking through old files on my pc and ran across This image from 2005 boat trip. Going to add a crop of this shot soon. The water looks great from close up. We will see how that looks. The best whishes to you Brad and your family for the holiday season. If you ever come to Alaska please let me know.
