    Colors Inside

Detail inside one of many slot canyons of southern Utah. The subtle

colors and changing light make for a continuously evolving chance for

photographic interpretation. Thanks for your comments.

  1. Cezary, this shot was taken in Bryce Canyon N.P., Utah, USA. Along one of the step trails leading down into the canyon. I live nearby and the area has seen good snow fall this winter. I also took a couple of panoramic shots from this location, but this one is single exposure wide angle. Thanks
  2. This natural bridge is massive, and it's very difficult to capture it's true

dimensions. And, since it's almost always in partial shade, light

extremes are a challenge to deal with. A beautiful and humbling place

to visit. Thanks for taking a look.

The Vermillion Cliffs area of Northern Arizona is a pristine region for

discovering hidden jewels of the southwestern desert. This is an

example of extracting a small detail from the grand scene. Comments

    and critiques are welcomed.

  3. Gary , I've been shooting this view off and on for over ten years now. I don't bother anymore unless there is substantial cloud cover to the east to cut down on the extreme flare from the rising sun. It requires a minimum 2 to 4 stops of light reduction to even out the light. Luckily I now llive only a short drive from Bryce and I have a chance to see it under many different conditions. Nice job with this one.

Another example of the ancient trees in the high mountains of Great

Basin NP. This tree could be a brother to the famed "Prometheus Tree"

that was accidentally cut down in the early 1960's. It was the oldest

livng tree in the world--- over 4700 years old.
