I use 'FEL' and bounce from available options nearby. If I can't find any, I use a bounce card.

You can try hosting with godaddy if that works for you. I've found BluDomain programmers take it much less time if you choose godaddy as your other hosting provider.

When I'm confident on light conditions, I shoot JPEG, when I'm not, I go for RAW + JPEG.

I use Google Calendar. It is quite flexible, you can even browse your calendar using your mobile, and use the quick add function over there when you are on the move. You can use the comments field to keep your bride info. You can even choose to make your calendar public so that your clients can know for which dates you are free and for which you aren't. You can see mine one in action here at www.mozammelhaque.com/photography . BTW, if you want to build a custom one, knock me... ;) as I am a Software Engineer too...

Hi All,
Recently I'm finding DVD slideshows quite time consuming, and asking long time
(around 4 weeks or so) from my clients to create their Slide Show. My Slide
Shows generally lasts around 12/15 minutes. I was wondering, how long do you
guyz take from your client to deliver the DVD Slide Shows of their event?

I have the same problem with 550 and 430, don't know how to fix it!

I'm using 70-200 2.8 Sigma for most of my wedding portraits. Though the lense is heavy, I find the quality quite acceptable.

I've used it and found it as one of the best tools I've used for slideshows. It was also very easy to get started with, and supports photoshop like layers using which you can do some pretty cool animation effects. It also supports transparency between slides which I use often.
You can find a demo of my work here:

1. Part time. My day job involvs software engineering, and I love it to much to apart from it. And as I also enjoy wedding photography, I'm still part time.
2. By covering a friend's wedding event in Toronto.
3. Currently I'm residing in Bangladesh. Wedding style here is different. Generally there are four events (seperate day). Each event is of around 3 hours. I would like to shoot 120+ events. Already have 30+ booked.
4. My highest package + DVD Slide show ($350 for each day - 3 hours)

Hi Aparna,
Being a part time wedding photographer here in Dhaka, Bangladesh, I understand your situation. Coming to you point, have you tried picaboo?

William,
Sure, I'll be updating my progress with the custom proofing/selling software in this thread, glad that you are also interested.

As I didn't get any reply, and neither did I find my required software in the market, I assume that I'll have to create my own distribution software. Luckly I'm a Software Engineer myself and hope that I'll be able to pull it off within few weeks' part time effort.

I've been using this one for most of the time during my Wedding coverages. On the other end, I currently rely on my Sigma 70-200 2.8 one.
Pros: Fast focus, and good handling. Contrast/Sharpness of the images are quite acceptable even wide open.
Cons: Haven't found any particular one yet.

Hi,
I have been searcing for this software for quite some time now but failed to
track down the exact one yet. My requirement is I want to hand over pictures of
an assignment (weddings and others) to my client on a CD. Client should be able
to select pictures for prints and give me the list of images for print.
Now, "Image Chest" (http://www.justwave.com) almost solved my problem, but
unfortunately on that clients cannot save their order. My clients typically will
select around 400 pictures for print from around 2000. So, saving their
selection, and loading it later on is important for them.
Can anyone please suggest me a better similar software?
Thanks in advance,
Mozammel

I'm toying with my newly bought old but powerful flash, 533g on my EOS
1D. Fired some test shots, and looks fine so far. I even managed to
capture <a

one as I was toying along. A question to all you pros, is there a
chance that this old flash will cause major problem with my 1D?
Thanks in advance
