Providence Canyon is also fantastic! Often called the Mini Grand Canyon of Georgia, the dark red cliffs riboned with pure white kaolan (sp?) make for fantastic color and right now the trees will be coming out so it should be beautiful. It is also les crowded as fewer people know about it.
It's in east central Georgia around Pine Mountain area down I-85 and about 2 hours from downtown Atlanta.
Have fun... think I might actually take a trip there this weekend... was reading this post for possibly new ideas :)
