Typical, tiny, Havana bar with staff and locals watching the game.

I like how everything but the horses head in this image moves, for me
it's what makes it a pretty decent image. Grab shot at 1/30 while
panning camera. Desaturate, Photo Filter and Contrast layers in PSE3.
Any critiques welcome!

printing (be it chemical or PS) looks a bit flat, and composition seems a bit cluttered. The top and bottom part on there own look great, together? Hmmm...

Nice try, but it has an exposure problem. Looking at the histogram, the highlights have been blown and shadow details lost. And you can see this by looking at the picture as well.
A scene like this really needs a neutral density graduated filter over the sky. You would still have detail in the white clouds and really bring out the colour in the boats.

There were just a few openings in the very grey clouds on this autumn
day on the south English coast. After photographing the colourful
cabins with the sunset shining on them, I decided to also shoot them
against the light. To balance out the light, a 0.9 HiTech soft ND grad
was used over the sky and water.

After two and a half years of stalling I finaly bagged a Squirrel shot
for my fiancee. This little bugger was playing around in a park in
Chichester, Sussex, England, where we went for a nice day's walking.
What an opportunity to test out my new 50-200 (100-400 equivalent) on
my Olympus E-1! The patchy grey overcast light was quite low and this
was in the shade of a big tree so I had to shoot at ISO 400 and wide
open just to get 1/400 as I had to hand hold.
I am quite pleased, think my fiancee wil be too? :)

These were on display at the Plantation House museum in Barbados,
photographed using available light only.

Trying my hand at mono some more.
Any critiques/ratings welcome!
Thanks.

Still, very good execution. I am a simple man and judge pictures by their "crack-in-the-wall-covering" worthiness and this one certainly rates high!

Bit unbalaced composition, and nothing that much interesting as I do not see a link between the trucks and the sign. Signs work best if there is a good link between something else in the photo.

Huh? I doubt there is any law against it. AFAIK, they are considered public property, hence they can be photographed at will, either while on it, or when taking pictures of. (When taking pictures of it, it standing on public land that counts, not the object you are taking the photo of) In any case, don't be bullied by any security personal other than goverment officals. (cops, feds, etc)

Actualy, the grave stone is at an angle, just look at the tree in the background. Most in Highgate cemetary are, it was abandoned and closed for many years untill it was re-opened to the public. Graves are literaly stacked one on top of each other, making tight crops often the only option. Hope to put up some more photos soon!

Highgate Cemetary in London, the burial place of Karl Marx, is full
of interesting headstones, one of which I tried to capture here. Was
it worth paying the £1 camera admission charge for?

The gun pointing out of the picture and the wall on the right hand side which is not interesting enough to be the foreground makes me not too impressed. Moving forward and having the canon on the left could have worked much better.

Interesting composition, but the "mono" left part with grey sky but very colourful right part leaves it unbalanced for me.

Try this tree again in softer light!
