Does anyone have any experience about Monostat? I'm planning to get one for

my Leica M6 and Nikon fm-2. Do I need to buy a Head for Monostat? Thank you

if I attach it to my cameras without a Head, can I move camera in longitudinal

Hi all, I'm looking for Elmarit 90mm chrome lens and got to above

website. It has a really good price $949.98. Because the price is

too good to be true, I called the store which based in Brooklyn, NY.

First thing, they asked me if I wanted to have a new or used one

(according to the ad on their website, I believe all item are new)

then asked me if I wanted to have one made in Canada or Germany. I

told them that I wanted to have new one made in Germany. They told

me the price would be $1150 ! This price is still acceptable for

me. However, I have a doubt about their company. Anyone had an

experience with this store, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I have M6 TTL and don't have professional digital cam. However, when I showed my pics to my friend who had top dig. Canon, he told me that how come my pic. quality was so great regarding to the color, natural. He told me that his dig. pics didn't have a true color and looked flat and the sharpness is too much ---> not natural.

Because of this, I am still sticking with M6 and Nikon FM2 even though I can get top Dig. cam if I want ;-))

My M6 ttl has been with me for more than 2 years. It is never changed battery even though I used it almost every day and I never set it off. As far as I know, if dial speed is in certain speed and you don't wind the film advance level, the battery is not draining out disregard the shutter button is pressed or not. You can check it by pressing the shutter realease button when the film advance level is not wound and you will see no light meter is triggered on.

That's interesting! When engineers get together, they talk about stock and when doctors get together, they discuss about the cases!!

I spent more than half of my life in Vietnam and I used to travel quite a bit. I agree with someone that B&W film would be a excellent choice to get in VN because most of places in VN still have old look so that you will get a very good tone.

I also had same problem as you, then I found that if you just pull a build in hood out just a little bit, you can snap its cap in easily. My cap never falls out with this method. Take care. Tuan

I am wondering that if I really need to switch the knob to "off""

position when I don't take a pic. The reason I am asking this

because I also have Nikon FM2 and look like their main function are

similar except M6 TTL has an "off" position (both of them need to

wind the film advance level to activate the light meter and of course

to shoot ;-)). I don't have any problem of battery drainage with FM2

(I got FM2 7 years ago and never change its batteries).

Hi all,

Thank you for replies to my question about M6's shutter speed. Now I

have another question. I intend to buy 50mm/2 lens at this time, and

possible will get 28mm/2 and 75mm/1.4 in the future. Could you tell

me which magnifier (0.58, 0.72 or 0.85) I should get in M6? and what

is difference between 3 those magnifiers anyway. Thank you very much.

Hi all,

I am new in the group. I'd like to have one question. I'm using FM2

many years and now want to buy a new M6 TTL Leica. Last week I went

to a camera store to check it out. When I checked its shutter speeds

from 1/15 down to 1 sec., I heard a funny "ZZZZZZZZZZZ" sound even

though the shutter closed down. When I checked 2 other M6s, I had

the same phenomenon. Is it a normal sound of M6 at slow speed?
