  1. I am not the one who said "if you dont own it dont comment" that was you Mac. You stated it as if it were some golden rule. I am still new to photo.net. So please forgive me.

I just hope your blood pressure is ok Mac, these were only questions.

  2. Carl,

    Get the number right first.

Second, I only had about a half hour to use the camera.

    Mac,

Never said I owned it, just said I got to play with it. Not in a studio or even outside, just in a reviewer's office. I thought I would ask if any one else was suprised by the weight, thats all.

Since I was asking about the 1Ds (in terms of the menu), Mac if you don't own then don't answer. A little advice, count to ten, take a deep breath and relax.

  3. Hi folks,

I just played with a 1D mkII. WOW! What a sweet camera. I was

wondering if anyone else has? Is it like the 1Ds in terms of the

menu and weight? If so has has any one had any issues? I love a

lot about it. The two things I did not care for were, the weight and

the non intuitive menu. I have two 10D's and a D60. Both are fairly

easy to figure out. I have a mkII on order and am concerned these

might slow me down in a wedding or other event. Any thoughts?

BTW, I was not a store, so I was unable to compare the two cameras.

    Thanks,

    Allen

  4. I have the turbo and turbo z, even though the turbo weighs more, I prefer it. It lasts the entire day ( I shoot weddings with it), where as the z dies about three quarters of the way through. You need a model "cz" cable to connect it. I can fire as fast as my 10d will go(in the high speed mode) and have the flash fire, with correct output, every time. If you wear it on your belt or hook it to your tripod, you will be ok.
  5. I use FlipAlbum Pro. It allows you to password lock, encrypt, and add and an expiration date. All these options are separate from one another, so you choose what you want. Images can not be copied from this CD if you encrypt it. It also has the look of an album on the screen. The pages turn , kinda cool. You can have autorun, slide shows, music, different themes, as well as your logo on each image. Cool software for under a $100US.
  6. Gilles,

There are two stores in Atlanta that I buy from. Both will usually give you a deal, if you ask. The first is PPR (Professional Photographer Resource) 404.885.1885. The cool thing is they rent equipment too. Talk to David Chapman, he is one of the managers. The other place, Photobarn, is just north of Atlanta. The number there is 770.921.9500. Talk to Kenneth. Hope this helps.

  7. I think you should get the 10D. Here is why: you will have the SLR control you are used to. You can use your lenses. The biggest reason is you spend the $600 on a G3, then you want/need the flexiblity of the 10D, it costs you a net of $2100! ouch. Get the right one the first time. You won't regret getting a better camera. This is what have learned from my mistakes.
  8. I bought mine in Atlanta, in a real store for $1499. They had nine in stock. I like the vertical sensor and the focusing system better than my D60. There seems to be a better build quality to it as well. I have had it for a day, but I already can tell I like it more than the D60.

BTW, I got it PPR 404.885.1885
