This is a doorway on Church Street in San Francisco. It was a sunny day (not all that common in S.F.) and I was struck by how vigorous the vegetation looked.
-
I liked the complementary textures of the light board against the dark fence. The flowers were just a bonus.

I put this in the fine art category. I think it is but am willing to be convinced otherwise.
This is out back of a bed and breakfast in Capitola, California. I think the complicated lines, shapes, textures and somewhat cockeyed angle was interesting and comes out as a satisfying composition. What do you think?
Fine Photography is a new site dedicated to the democritization of Fine Photography. I hope some photo.neters agree with its philosophy and would like to establish galleries and write articles.

This is a fine composition. I think the framing is actually distracting. I'd much rather see a larger version of the image.

I think this is of the Saint Ansel school and very good. Good tonal range, powerful composition. I think the mid-tones are not quite as contrasty as they could be. Excellent photograph.
-
Beautiful composition and technically excellent execution.
-
Great image. I wish you had posted a higher resolution image. I wish you had left in the bottoms of the tires.
-
Outstanding shot. I wish it were higher resolution so I could see the details more clearly.

This has a Henri Cartier-Bresson feel to it. I love the way the reflections from the bracelet act in counterpoint to the catch-lights in her eyes.
-
Again (I think I just critiqued another of your photos) beautiful pattern and tones.
-
Gorgeous pattern an tones.
-
First class. I'd love to see a silver print.

Nothing quite like urban decrepitude.
-
Great tone range and placement. Complex but not busy composition. You could push the contrast a little more and sharpen a little more but those are just nits.
-
Excellent image. "American Gothic" revisited.
-
Strong composition. Very strange tonality. Is the "X" intentional?
-
As presented this is kind of bleached. I'm sure it could be fixed in a print.
-
Excellent abstract. There is nothing in the world like metal and corrosion.

This was part of a set of heavy wooden platforms that were used to hold a house up off it's foundation. The San Francisco house had knocked off its foundation in the 1989 earthquake. I thought the crisscrossed lines and sense of massiveness was interesting.
