i use one, excellent camera. it makes me want to take photos. keep a hold of the battery

draw however. it can get lost..

although that doesnt nean that the cameras are anything less than fantastic. if you want

one they will still last for years.. i use one its great (203).. (and now can handle digital)

Hi All,

the hasselblad.com website says that the V96c back is compatible with all V series bodies,

ive:

1) validates that the 203 is still a V seeries product on the hasselblad website (it is)

2) downloaded the v96c fact sheet and it says all V series

I have a 500 cm and a 203fe body.

I have asked hasselblad via info@hasselblad.com to confirm that the v96c does work with

the 203 and have recieved no response.

does anyone here have the facts, given in the past the 200 series sorely lacked digital

(practical) support..

i do nature photography..

it would be nice if hasselblad had a cfe500mm.

i currently use a 350mmsa with a converter but if i could start with a 500 and convert it to

1000 that would be really nice.

i assume the reason that they have offered and then pulled the offer a couple of times is

because they want to clear old stock, but surely it wouldnt be hard to retrofit the contacts

for the apature to these lenses to make them more appealing...

oh well one can only live in hope.

anyone else want ao 500cfe?

ps .. i know not everyone is rich, im certainly not.

but second hand cameras dont give any money to hasselblad.

and it doesnnt incentivise them to enhance current production lines..

it seems that all the posts here is about buying second hand this second hand that..

there are some great incintives to buy new from hasselblad or their distributors.

i think that if you weighted up the pros and conns there may be little difference in proce

after all.

i have used a 500cm for about 15 years. and loved it.

recently i chose to buy a *new* 203fe.

i spent a year pondering if i should buy it, considering things like

price, supportability, and compatability.

i love the new body. its great id reccomend it to anyone.

comparison between the 500cm and 203fe.. well their both 'blads so they are great,

but ther are like venus and mars. the 203fe is venus. so silky smooth.. the 500cm ruff and

tuff..

i havnt used the 503 since, but i still take it with me on as a backup. i probably will

continut to use both..

Ive had bad expeiences in Fiji and Vanuatu.

In both cases their chemicals had been too hot and caused bad discolorations in my slides.

And In the case of Fiji had had scratches from top to bottom on one of my 120 rolls of film.

these places, to be fair, are generaly only doing holiday shots from disposables and instamatics. asking them to so a 120 roll by hand is just out of there normal experience..
