good tones, good subject. However, does the church lean backwards? No? Then please - spend a minute and straighten the verticals. Otherwise it's just another Flickr snapshot.

Jim - It's perfect as it is. I'm inpressed to see it was a C220. I had one of those 20 years ago, before my Hasselblad obsession got going. This image reminds us all that it's the morning light and the photographer that make something memorable, not the machine.
Scan it and ruin it in Photoshop, or leave all the little details like they were. I for one appreciate a real image of a real place.

He wishes he was Michel Kenna, but the image still sings. I spent a week at a workshop in '96 with Mr. Kenna and we shot the same type subjects up and down the coast near Delray Beach in Florida... all of our prints looked like Kenna's iconographic images of the sea. This image by Mr. McLaine is a clean, still study in tones and form. It is interesting to be aware of the digital involvement. That scares those of us who like to spend time in the smelly dark.

What a great lazy summer mood. I love the lead-in from the foreground. The semi-silhouettes fit the space between the dock and the far shore just perfectly. I'm usually no fan of HDR but this stops just short of being too much. When flipping through your photos this one stopped me. A winner.
