  1. Remove grass or twigs in lower right and place subject a little more to the right of the photo instead of in the center. I'd like to have a better idea of what the gulls are so interested in.

    The sky looks great, but the remainder of the photo is a little dark. A gradual neutral density flter may help to brighten up the foreground and the boat, which I assume is the secondary subject in this photo. You may also want to try composing objects, such as, the boat, in such a way as to have them moving into the photo.
  2. Next time be sure to compose the picture so the horizon is parallel to the edge of the photograph. Also try framing the horizon a little closer to the bottom instead of in the middle. I'm not sure if a polarizer was used here, but it may reduce reflections from the water. Other filters, such, as a graduated blue or orange may produce interesting results too.
