  1. Thanks, guys.

Yeah, I'm thinking a 2GB at this point. Didn't mention it but I will also have the wife's Canon 300D along with both a Lexar 512 and 1 GB disc for it, so should get by.

I may even have a lap top along to use for downloading as well.

SanDisk Extreme 2GB looks hot...$180-200 in several outlets.

Never had any problems with Lexar 80x WA however.

    Thanks!

    PS Whats up Zeapata's bunghole???

  2. I'm heading for Asia for 2 weeks in February with D200 (hopefully)in

    hand.

I've read the "don't put all your eggs in one basket" pros & cons of

carrying smaller versus larger memory cards, but I'm not clear on

how many actual images each size card will hold shooting all RAW

    images or all JPEG images.

Getting caught short on the road would be a nightmare.

While I do shoot a LOT while traveling, I'm planning on being more

selctive with RAW usage, but not sure how much smaller jpeg/snap

types I'd do and how much RAW for marketable large prints later.

I know this is vague, but any help would be appreciated.

  4. "NEW"?

The rating system is the same as it ever was.

Anyone who has been here a week knows why people rate anonymously.

There may be other explanations, even legitimate ones, but it's so-o-o obvious that once a pic hits a higher plane in the 'Top Photos' gallery that some p.net 'pixies' like to take you down a notch.

Two reasons: some old axe to grind, or they have their own image they want to leap frog yours in the 'standings'.

It's all so pathetic and it is also supported by the p.net staff as it has been for years, from what I've heard from many longtime members.

I personally know of one p.net guru who continuously used this techinique frequently on more than one former member until they left or were banned for complaining too much.

So SHOOSH! P.net staffers, all of whom no longer post their images here and so do not have to be judged by the same standards, think all-is-well.

And that's end of this thread!

    Shoosh!
