I was originally going to do this as a color, but at the last minute

decided to black & white it; to my pleasant surprise, it worked. Any

    thoughts would be helpful!

One of the first shots with my new 70mm F/2.8! Wonderful lens. I

think I may have erred by narrowing the DOF too much, and the amount

of foreground blur is a little distracting. But, I will still happy

with the detail in the eye!

Jiri, this is a great picture. The colors are bold and the sky is very dramatic. I like the tilted angle and think it adds strongly to the composition.

Your fashion folio is really striking. I like your sense of style and the atmosphere of your images.

    Take care, MQ

  1. A second in a series of pictures of the wonderful Disney Concert

Hall. Previously, I have tried to capture it from afar, but here is

an investigation of the building from a more intimate perspective.

Your comments would be very appreciated! Thanks! MQ

    Hi Tuhin,

Lovely shot... very dramatic and striking. Have you considered removing the telephone pole and lines in the background, because its the only thing that distracts from your main subject!

    Take care, MQ

  2. Hi Juan,

Nice shot! Its a beautiful, but also difficult building to photograph because there are SO many possibilites! I went with trying to get an overall shot of it, but I like how you've captured its spirit by finding one of its unique details! Thats why I like Frank Gehry!

    Have a great day, MQ

  3. Umair, your portfolio is nothing short of breathtaking. You can almost smell/feel/taste pakistan in your shots. I especially like this picture because of way you have posed your subjects! Such character in their serious, young, faces. Are the green hats that color originally, or did you colorize them?

    Thanks! MQ

  4. James, thank you for kind comments.

Actually, the top two structures in the upper-middle portion of the image are part of the building! The one that sticks out in the upper left is the one I should have removed!

Thanks again for your comments. --MQ

  5. It is a beautiful building, and I shot it from multiple angles. I

used a very wide 15-30mm Sigma lens to go wide enough to capture it.

The thing which is hard is not to get the streetlamps in! On

reflection, I think I may revise the image by removing the buildings

in the background on the top & middle left side.

Beautiful. The layering, macro and light work very well, and the off-center composition is just right. The elaborate border/framing is uneccesary in my opinion... the image speaks for itself.

The image, although beautiful, looks like it was cutout from the original and placed in a black background. Softening the edges usually makes it appear less like an insertion
