  1. Next time I'm roaming a dark social club looking for candids I'll ask people to hold the pose while I set up my studio lights and take some meter readings....

Also, the girls were a little pale (they have reddish hair), and if I cropped any tighter I'd be cutting out the girls.

  2. The birds in the trees appear to be another type of bird, perhaps crows.

The flying birds are cormorants, not ducks, and they do sit in trees. Their feathers are not waterproof like a duck's (even though they dive underwater) and they can often be seen with their wings spread, sitting in a tree, dock or piling, drying their wings.

  3. Please critique from a photojournalistic point of view. This image

shows the unfortunate Pit Bull and lots of firepower. There were

still 2 more dogs loose. More photos in my portfolio.

  4. Please critique as a photojournalistic effort. This happened at work

one day. The canteen truck driver wouldn't get out of the truck with

the dog roaming around. By the time I took this picture, one pitbull

was dead, one was still on the loose and a third was still in its'

    fenced area.

Part of a series of four photos, I tried to get a sense of isolation

in this shot, while the others in the series attempt to give a

feeling of relationship between the various elements in the photo.

This is one of four shots I have framed in a group. They are simple

compositions but are meant to evoke a mood and sense of solitude and

    isolation.

  5. I used the stitching software Canon supplies with the D30. I think it is very important that the camera was on a tripod with a pan head so it stayed on the same plane as it took each shot. The image is about a 120 degree view. Also, the exposure was set and remained unchanged to avoid bright and dark images. (I printed an 8" x 32" version that is very nice).
