Yeah, this and the rose petal one are definitely calendar keepers. Keep up the determination and you'll have an awesome calendar
  1. Taking into account that you want softness, I would use a) diffuser filter, b) nylon stocking over the lens c) vaseline on a UV filter

I agree the necklace either should go, or lose its sparkle, and I probably would want to see more face.

  2. Ah, a fellow old school olympus shooter... how do you like that APX film? This is a perfect b+w shot. Did you bracket to keep detail in the highlight, or use development manipulation?

IMO, this is probably the best picture of this model that you've posted thus far, at least concerning her pose. The color tone seems a little too grey for my liking however.

I was looking at this again... It is a CD quality image, and I like the lack of distortion that the other image of the same shoot has. Technical question, did you change the colors in PS or did you use a lighting setup and let the camera record it?

Very good tones, and the cropping is just right. Other posters were right, she has the perfect expression, pose, and general look for a very good portrait. This is a portrait that gives an elegant, dignified, and professional effect.

Hmmm, its a good picture, what would make it better. I think her pose conveys a lot of energy, I'm still unsure about the crooked floor line. I think something that would give her pose a little something more would be to move her arms away from her body, and not look straight into the camera, maybe off to her left side (that side would go better with the crooked floor line). But I would keep it in color, the powder blue dress and red give a nice feeling. Maybe use a polarizer to increase the saturation of the colors.

Very beautiful. Her jaw line is perfectly shaped against her blurred chest. Good DOF. I can't decide if I like the red toned one or this. I think the coolness to this is a bonus.
  3. I like this, I think the foreground tree is very detailed, and this makes it stand out. I never thought to use a sepia tone on such a cold scene, but this really works. You ought to sell some prints of this.
  4. Nice portrait. I like the scene. I started thinking about the size of grain though, and I don't think it should be this large. There is too much tonal gradation in the sky for that size grain, and her face looks kinda cut up from it.
