    50mm F1.8 Zuiko

    Hi.

     

    I wondered which 50mm F1.8 Zuiko I should keep. I have 3 right

    now...2 are standard black fronts and 1 is a silver nosed lens. They

    all have slightly different markings on the front barrel. I read

    someplace that a lens with the marking "made in japan" is considered

    to the BEST. Personally I like the way the Silver Nose 50 looks on

    my OM-2S. Tho it might only be a single coated lens. Just wondered

    what you thought about this.

    I went through a few OM-2S's before I found the absolute perfect one...tho even one of the 1's that wasnt "perfect" worked well.

     

    My question to you:

     

    I have a similar issue with an OM-2N. After pressing the shutter..the mirror locks up and I have move the switch to "check/reset" to make the mirror "unlock". Actually I noticed this at the place where I obtained the camera...the guy replaced the batteries and it worked well. It even worked well when I brought it home. I left it "on" and I wonder if the batteries got drained. I read someplace that they can drain in just a few hours. Is this really true?
