  1. Literally looking to produce an image to cover my wall, 10x10 feet. Atleast, but maybe more or less. I am

starting with a digital image from an 8 mp picture, I don't care how grainy it looks or anything like that.

Just interested in knowing some different techniques besides canvas sizing and printing on a home

printer. Is there a program for mac that I can bump it up so it fills in pixels at larger sizes? Or anything

like that, any helpful hints appreciated.

    Thank you.

  2. I'm looking for a abusable cheap underwater camera, lens quality doesn't matter. Just looking

for something that would be useable at nothing deeper then like 10 feet of ocean or lake

depth. Anyone know anything like this for under $50? I just want to take some pictures of my

friends as they are swimming in the waves near my house and maybe a couple shots of stuff

    underneath the bathtub water.

  3. I'm looking to make a wall blow up of a couple of pictures. I was thinking of taking some

stills and blowing them up via ___________. (blank because Im not sure where the best

place would be) or even the best kind of place would be to blow up a picture.

Does anyone know any software for Mac that would help in this endeavor. Also if anyone

knows of any online tutorials or guides that would be greatly appreciatied!

    Thanks much for your help!

  4. The books have the picture printed on the cover page. Not glued on like the linen bound

    versions.

The small books are great! the only bad thing is you have to order three of them. The

medium and large softcover versions are very professional looking especially if you go

    with a portfolio style theme.

I didn't like the old version of the book making system, this new one in iLife 05 is amazing

though. I've just ordered 3 books for Valentines day.

  5. Hello all,

Goodmorning, or afternoon, whichever you may be enjoying at the moment of

reading. I am what you would probally call a "hobby-ist". When it comes to

    photography.

Here is my question or dilema rather. I'm starting to do some research about smaller

more compact point and shoot digital cameras. Mainly for two reasons, I have a Canon

d-60 and its a 6 megapixel burger, burger, burger. But due to its size and always

carring lens' are around I never seem to gain motivation to bring it along thus missing

picture oppurtunities. So its too big, heavy, and too much of a burden. The second

reason is, it's not really allowed into places where I photograph a lot. I like to go to

concerts and they always have the rule of "non-professional" cameras only. Thus that

leaves me out cuz I wouldn't be able to get the d-60 past even the most non-

    observant doormen.

So I've been conducting some research last couple of boring nights via my computer

and many, many, and many websites that review digital cameras. I thought that I had

really liked the Sony Dsc-t1. But then there are a few problems. The memory stick

dilema sounds like its a bit of a turn-off. And the fact that the lcd screen is the only

way to view the picture before hand. But I do love the size and design. Im looking for

something ultra-compact. Something that I will barely think twice about while loading

    it into my backpack.

And then I took a look at the contax, the one $700 one. I forget the exact name. I

liked the simplicity of the design but from everyones review basically I guess its just

not worth the cash. And the digilux seems like an interesting option just haven't really

explored it too much because of the price range. Plus I suppose its just carrying a

leica name and not really anything to do with it.

So basically here are my parameters.

I'm looking for something that is atleast 4.0 megapixels. 5.0 would maybe be better?

But it doesn't matter in the long run really to me.

I'm looking for something compact, or ultra-compact. Size matters to me. Weight is

    not a big deal.

I'm looking for something that isn't going to be an impulse buy, and or something

that will be outdated quickly. (I know thats a bit of a bad comment when buying a

digital camera) but it happens sooner rather then later with certain models I presume.

I'm looking for something that has a lot of manuel controls. I.E. I can set the

aperature/shutter. (I have yet to find one that has a "T" or a "bulb" setting. Does

anyone know of any digi cams that do? my d-60 doesn't even, or if it does I can't find

    out how to use it).

I'm looking for something that has a reasobale lens.

Price range just has to be under 1000.00.

Something that takes traditional memory cards. Or atleast something I can plug into

the belkin card reader for iPod. Which I believe is ScanDisk, or Compact Flash. So

    something along those lines.

I don't care about "zoom qualities" or abilities. I know they all come standard basically

with some zoom, but its not revelant to me.

Something that has the option to turn off the lcd screen to make the batteries last

    longer.

Hopefully im not creating a dream digital camera in my head.

If anyone can handle reading my post and helping me I would greatly appreciate it.

And I thank you for your contributions.

    Cheers!

  6. Thanks for your contribution and opinions Lucas. I did some research and

noticed you have a studio in Hong Kong, do you ever hire interns? And if so

    how does that process work?

I am taking up an internship here in a studio (northern California) this summer

to try and learn some lighting etc. But am interested to know if there are other

options available at a later date.

Again thanks for all your help mate.

  7. Does anyone know of any programs and or professional photographers

who are in the travel photography catagory that hire or allow

internships? Im highly interested in learning a lot more then I know

and would find this to be a very helpfull way of going about it. So

if anyone knows of any friends or co-workers who might be interested

in hiring a assitant to help and learn at the same time. I am more

    then willing to travel.

Cheers for taking the time to read and respond.

  8. I was wondering what is the cheapest or most popular outfit of Lecia

that I would be able to equip myself with. I am planning a trip

around Europe and truely love the idea of one film, one camera, one

lens. So I figured if I want to do that I should choose a renound

camera. With that in mind, what is a easy to get Lecia (on eBay or

elsewhere) and whats the most universal lens. I like something wide.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.
