Great idea & execution - my only criticism would be that I would have preferred the background (ie, the model) to be not quite as out-of-focus as she is here. In the thumbnail she appears sharper (but still blurry) because of the size of the image, and that would be the level of sharpness I'd prefer in this - but nice one all the same!

How did I miss this?!
OK, probably because I'm never here... This is a truly wonderful image Peter!

My first thought was to laugh! (and so I'm glad to read that this was also your intention). You have some clever ideas and they are well-implemented :)

You've caught the texture well with your precise focus. I like the colours from crystal & reflections. My only suggestion would be to try a different crop (perhaps a square?). I find it sits awkwardly in the rectangular space (just my personal thoughts, I'm no expert though!)...

Thanks Charlie :)
Maybe my self-promotion is below par, but I did enquire with Nat. Geo (I think it was them - they wouldn't consider a single image, wanted a portfolio). Oh well...

Thank you Pnina. Colours are not enhanced, but as it was. Some jpeg artifacts are visible here but not in the original. Thanks for looking!

I see you're fond of night photography. You've caught some nice colours in this one, and the jet track adds a bit of interest.
I still see quite a lot of noise in your image; if you're really into night images and have some spending power then the EOS 5D performs quite well in low light, presumably due to its larger-than-usual pixels. I can recommend it, but it is not a trivial purchase by any means.
I'm also in Adelaide: which suburb is this in? (I'm guessing somewhere near Henley Beach Road, but perhaps I'm way off).

Thank you everyone for your comments.
Frank, I did make a bit of an investigation to publish but couldn't generate any interest - I've since given up on that idea...

Yes, nicely done.

Interesting work, I like your development of the technique; even though it was already invented, this doesn't take away your ingenuity IMO. Thought you might like to see this, and old experimental photo I did with an Arsat tilt/shift lens (80mm f/2.8).
You mention elsewhere about a tilt/shift adapter - can you tell me about this?

Nice effect with the backlighting in this.

Naturally, you do not get shadows with a full Moon, except when there is a lunar eclipse as shown above. Both photos are very good while also being very different.

I think I have a near-identical image somewhere (not on PN) from a near-identical source: condensation within a plastic bottle (great minds think alike perhaps!). It does make a nice abstract.

Good use of the wide-angle Peter.
I see from your folder names that you consider Tasmania to be distinct from Australia...
LOL ;-)

Lovely (dreamy) mood...
Have you considered cropping away the little bit of land on the right edge? I find it brings me down to reality whereas I think I should stay floating in the mist with this one.

The diagonal lines of the road, wall, line of grass, and hills draw my eye in. That and the lovely muted colours make this a very nice image.

I like this a lot - the range of light is well-captured and the composition is good.

Nice iconic image Peter - pleasing composition!

Partial solar eclipse as seen in Sydney (Australia) on the afternoon
of December 4th, 2002. Smoke from a bushfire gives the rich colours
(unmanipulated). The plane is taking off from Sydney's Kingsford-Smith
airport (Resubmit).

Not that it helps you at all, but be assured that I made pdf copies of all of the comments my photos received before I deleted them - I respect the time and effort people had put into their visits to my photos enough to do that much. If I had thought of it, I would have gone the 'blank white square' route some others have used and then I could have preserved things until a change of mind, but alas...

I'm glad you didn't delete this after all :-)
It looks very 3D, presumably a trick of the light in this case!
Milkweed seeds, after the frost on them had melted.
