I sure hope IVAN does not intrupt the festivities. Good luck and I hope the show is well attended.

Without trying to be cute or snide, I would say anywhere you want to place the stickers would be ok.

opps I tried this a minute ago...Richard Avedon's In the American West is a powerful statement. All portraits and all 8x10. Another is the Portrait of the American Cowboy by Jay Dusard. Very strong work.

Dremel tools are what I have used in the past. Jewelers rouge is necessary generally also. Patience is a real blessing also.

I'll probably be getting a Nikkor 90mm for my first lens and may eventually go wider to a 72mm.
I would not recommend getting a 90mm to start with. Most are not very bright and are hard to focus. Start with a 150 mm or maybe a 210 mm. Learn with those lens and then go to the wide angle. If you want to do landscapes, look to John Sexton's first book and discover that he used the 210 mm the most because that was what he had to work with.

you also might contact Ben Breard at the Afterimage Gallery in Dallas Texas. He has been in business for over 25 years and is quite knowledgable.

improving 8x10 b&w negs contrast

several things could be in play here. it might be that the film (hp5+) may not be able to respond to the development you are giving it. HP5+ is a film that does not respond greatly to expansion. For normal brightness ranges it is as good a film as there is. The lens coatings may be at fault. The developer may not be able to increase the contrast given the amount of developer that is in the tube and the number of square inches of the film. Might be one and it might be all or more but without really knowing that is what I would look at.
