Thanks Rich, I really like the looks of the Domke bags as well especially the F3X http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=domke&itemnum=700-30B I really like the canvas look, but would the ballistic be more weather resistant?
The thing that threw me off a little about the Domke bags, there are a few reviews I've read that said there was little to no padding. I just worry about an accidental drop well out and about, I may not have the best gear around, but I still want to protect it.

Anyone have any opinions on the delsey Pro bags? Mainly the Pro bag 4 http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&kw=DEPB4&is=REG&Q=&O=productlist&sku=280476
I really like my little Delsey Gopix 70 with my range finders, amazing how roomy that small bag is. Even right now I took my rangefinders out, and manged to get the Elan II with a 35-70 attached and have room for my 19-35 zoom not bad for 9.5"X5"

"If you are athletic at all I would imagine you have the same problem."
I used to work out alot, not anymore though unfortunately. When I was working out I used to make sure I worked each part of the shoulder (over head dumbbell, front raises, side laterals, lats) I?m not sure that the workouts did it though, I think it?s just my body type.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, the Lowepro slingshot might be what I have to go to. The Domke bags look really nice to. I have also looked at those Crumpler bags in the past, but they just seem way to over priced for what you get.
I'm really not to happy with my current bag at all, besides the nuisances I listed, the interior is breaking down, when I pull my gear out it's covered in a fine white powder, I've washed the bag a few times now and it's still a problem.
The strap suggestions might help some, but I really think my shoulder is the issue. I have a pretty top of the line Targus laptop bag that has the curved ergonomic padded strap, and even that doesn't stay put.

My current bag is a Tamrac, I am not sure of the model as a friend gave it to
me 3 years ago, I was told it was made in the late 80's it's external
measurement is about 11"x7"
My main problem, there isn't a handle on the bag; it's just a quick flap, and a
leather padded shoulder strap. For some strange reason I can not hang bags on
my shoulder, they just slide right off (I guess I'm built wrong lol). Another
issue, the bag is to bulky, after an hour or so I almost feel like dragging it
behind me. My other smaller bag for my rangefinders, Delsey Gopix 70, it slides
off my shoulders as well.
I mainly shoot street, and wilderness (trails, parks etc.) The equipment I'm
looking to bring with me is either of canon bodies (Elan II or EOS 650) 2 or 3
lenses 70-210, 19-35, 50MM prime, duster, several micro fiber cloths, various
filters (75MM, 62MM) and of course film.
My ideal bag would be something that has a handle for easier handling, I would
prefer the bag not be too flashy, and something allot less bulky.
So far I been looking online, as the closest Ritz is almost an hours drive from
here. I pretty much like the Tamrac System 3 (5603)

few more suggestions.
Thanks in advance

One more question, can I use a regular 77mm UV filter with out getting vignetting, or would it be better to look for a specific wide angle filter.

Jim,
Thanks for the kind response, I cleaned both bodies contacts and the lens contact lest night and the lens was working fine.
I just tried your suggestion and it fires off fine at f/8, the highest aperture selectable was f/19, so I set it there and it fired fine.
So maybe it was just a dirty contact?
Thanks

I just purchased a Cosina 19-35 (same as the Vivitar series 1) Lens to use with
my Elan II, first few shots I was getting the check battery error the then it
started working, and quit again, seems like it isn't focusing.
I then tried it on my EOS 650 and it won't fire at all, it just flashes BC
I purchased the lens from 47thstphoto, they stated they want a 20 percent
restocking few to give me a refund, or they will send me a replacement lens.
Should I waste my time with another lens, or eat the $20 it will cost in
restocking fees and just save up for a better lens?

Joseph,
Thats a pretty good idea, I was thinking if the smell was to bad I would perforate a box of Baking soda and put it in a Ziploc bag and put the camera on top. The Fabreeze might work better...
I know baking soda definitely works, just don't know how safe it is for optics. About 10 years ago when I purchased my first car it smelled like a bowling alley. I sprinkled about 4 boxes of baking soda everywhere and let it sit for a few days well I did some mechanical work on it, vacuumed it up and it never stunk again.
-
Thankfully it was just a body, so no lens to worry about. The body it's self didn't smell to bad, and with the simple green it cleaned up nice. The camera bag it was stored in smells like it absorbed most of the smoke. I plan on taking it out tomorrow for a test shoot and see how the pics come out.
-
I guess I shouldn't have asked such an obtuse question, I didn't mean to offend anyone that is a smoker.
I know pollution is dangerous, I know the food we eat isn't as clean as we think, I know the world can blow up at any second and nothing will matter.
I should of worded the question differently, I just wanted to know if the smoke could possibly affect the picture quality.
-
I was hoping this wasn't going to come off as "Paranoia" I was just curious if I should be concerned at all for the functionality of the camera, I don't care if the person smoked or not.
Thanks for the cologne/fabric softner suggestions Im going to try that.

Hello,
I just purchased a Canon Elan II Body only from an eBay camera reseller for
$30. When I got the camera today it was in a camera bag that smelled like
cigarette smoke (which I promptly threw in the trash). The camera body, mirror
etc. look fine, I cleaned the camera body really good with diluted Simple Green
and the cloth didn't appear to have the usual tobacco residue you see when you
clean up something from a smoker. I cleaned the mirror and screen with a
chemical lens cleaner.
Should I be concerned that the camera has been in such an enviroment? Is there
anything else I should do before taking it out shooting.
I was thinking of contacting the eBay seller, but I'm tight on cash and I'm
happy that the camera even works for the price.

Hello,
I have a Kiev 4M bit of a finicky camera but takes excellent photos.
In the middle of a shoot today I noticed that the shutter release
button was down and the film advance just turned with no resistance.
So a few people have told me that the button can lock and the
feature is called T Lock? Has anyone herd of this and also how and
why would anyone enable this?
-
Ok thanks for the response I worked at a bit with some rubbing alcohol it didnt get all of it off but it defintly looks better.
Question? Well this gunk affect the quality of a photo, if yes, does anyone know of permanant or semi permanant solution to fixing this problem? Im really hoping I didnt buy into a lemon, and have to scrap the camera, was really starting to love it. The build quality and the photos that it takes is just awesome. Thanks again

Dennis

I need some suggestions I recently purchased an Eos 650 used it has
been working fine, Ive thrown around 10 rolls through it. The last
roll I proccessed about 5 out of the 24 exposure roll only half
developed the other half of the picture was black. Of course the
processor blamed the camera body. So when I got home I investigated
the Camera throughly and noticed that the shutter has some marks Ive
included a hyperlink below which clearly shows these marks.
http://photofabix.com/Can_650_Back.jpg
I did not notice these marks when I previously inspected the camera
after purchase? If this is the start of the dreded Shutter stick
what can I do. many thanks in advanced
Regards,
Need help picking out a new bag, can't seem to find one that doesn't slide off my shoulder

Your both right, I went to the Scotchguard website and they make several different types, Stain resistant, water repellent http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Scotchgard/Home/Applications/Apparel/
Domke states that they already treat the Canvas, but I was just curious how weather resistant it was. Seeing Lowepro, Tamrac, etc include weather protection covers for there bags.
