"The sky is white and there is shadow because it is late in the evening."
Understood. But it's still possible to do some post editing with a tool like Photoshop and to bring out details. This is a 30 second hack job, but....

"it's not a Bierstadt..." Dang :-) And I majored in Art History. Who is it?
Overall this is a fantastic portrait. Its just that my eyes can't decide if they want to look at the model or the background. I think it would be easier to look at if the background were less imposing. But still -- really well done!

My complements on the model and how you addressed her. The lighting is perfect! Doesn't hurt that she's beautiful, and I really I like that you can see a little of her teeth. However, the Bierstadt background is really distracting.

Oh! Please lighten up the people in the foreground!! If you want, I'll do it for you in Photoshop so you can see what you are missing!!! This could be SUCH a fun photo.

This is a good start. I'd like to see the curves and levels adjusted to really bring out some of the details in the wall and the plants. I think this pic could really sing with a little bit of color adjustment.

I love everything about this photograph but the carpet. For some reason I can't stop looking at it... keeps drawing my eyes down away from the adorable little baby! Maybe just some tighter cropping would help me focus? Could be just me. The sleeping, naked baby sure does give a feeling of peace and calm.

This is an intriguing photograph, mostly because of the location. Where is it? Some place Muslim? However, the sky is completely blown out and the foreground is totally lost in shadow. It would be such a better shot if we could see details of the people eating at the cafe. Depending on the resolution you had your camera set at, you may me able to play with the exposure of the original and bring out some of this detail... maybe try some dodging and burning? Also, you could have really played heaver on the cobble stone street by dropping down closer to the ground when you took the picture. There is real potential here, just needs a little bit of post production work.

These birds make me smile... not sure why. Maybe because they look happy. I'd love to see the colors pop just a little more... maybe play with the curves & levels?

Wow. I like that sun/dark clouds contrast. I wish the camera had been tilted down just a tad so maybe the top branches were cropped off and so the dog was not flirting with the edge of the shot.

Wonderful image, it's mysterious and haunting. Where is this? 6/6!

Move that tree to the left or right third and it's a spendid shot!

Great job on the colors!

The squirell in the background makes this shot! Are these aniamls captive? They must be, eh?
