  1. Thanks Robert, when look thur the viewfinder, I think the 70-200 VR is noticieably wobbly at 200mm, the Canon is a bit more Sticky. I just want to make sure I got a good lens, I can exchange it within 15 days. Thank you!
  2. I tried the Nikon 70-200 VR on my D2Xs the other day, I don?t think the VR is

as effective as the Canon?s 70-200 IS, I know it is working, I heard the

clicks, and the frame does freeze.

However it is just not as efficient as Canon?s IS. Can someone has used both

lenses tell me if this is normal or I got a bad copy? I only have one VR lens

    at the moment, thanks!

  3. You already have a 5D and 24-105 IS, why not add a 70-300 DO IS or 70-200 F/4 IS?

The 28-300 IS is a very heavy expensive lens, and it is slow, you will need a fast prime for some night or indoor shot. The main advantage of it is you don't have to change the lens on the field. I think for a lady, the 5D+ 24-105 plus 70-300 combo is a better choice(unless you are Grace Jones type).

  4. The full size sensor will give you cleaner images above ISO 400, if you used to 35mm film, noting will change in terms of lens choices, a 16-35mm lens on film will be 16-35mm on the 5D, same as the depth of field. The 24-105 IS is a perfect lens for the 5D, you can add a 17-40 and 70-200F/4 IS at later time.

I don't have the 30D, but I had a 20D, I would say there are differences between the 5D images and 20D's. The 5D images are a lot better. I print 17x22 on my Epson 4000, even at 12x18, you can still see the difference.

  5. If you want full frame, go with Canon, because there are no other choices, if you want APS stay with Nikon. D200 beat the hell out of the Canon 30D, however, the Canon 1DsMK2 with L glasses outperform Nikon D2Xs with Nikon lens in the same range. Also if you use ISO 400 above a lot, then consider Canon.
  6. Always buy the latest, you can get brand new body only for less than $700 bucks, why settle for a used XT? I was at Best Buy the other day, I hold the XTi for while and I think it grip better than the XT, the screen is a lot bigger, and it has the dust removal function,
