learn. What are your thoughts?

What a very interesting capture, It's almost as if there is another world below and your just looking into it. There is an incredible difference between foreground and backround yet the focal point of this image seems to be the beggining of new civilation which extends futher than the eye can see. It is photographs such as these which make me think, wow, people are actually out there, witnessing and experiencing the many incredible landscpes nature provides, fueling my love of this art form. Excellent shot, seems like you were hiking when this shot came about. very nice work

I know exactly where this is, my second home is just down the boardwalk. Beautiful sun, the graduated filter really balances the light, more so than I would have expected. If you'd like I have a shot of Hoboken from just about where you are in my folder take a look. http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=260868

Damn right Terran,, I feel I have learned a great deal since last year when someone special to me turned me on to this incredible avenue of expression. I have so many idea's I would like to explore though I feel limited by my equipment. I use my digital mainly because of the expense, I just cannot justify the cost of film though I'm planning on picking up that new Luminex Z10 4mp which is coming out this November, it's pretty impressive. Until then I'll have to trick my barely manual Fuji 3800. Hope I can squeeze a few more decent pics out before it's needed retirement. (chris) This shot was taken by forcing my "nightscene" 3 second delay by using a filter to kill the light enough to activate this so called feature...Bah! Though I got the effect I wanted, I shouldn't know this camera that well.

Luca, this is one incredible shot, I envy your talent. The motion blur on it's wings leaving the body stationary is one wild effect. Very nice work, I am very surprised at the ratings thus far.

How did you manage to "Hold back" the sun and capture light in the foreground?
