The reason I put this in the Lenses category is that the problem
only occurs when I use my 75-300 4-5.6/f. Anything wide open works,
but after that it gives me that message. I desperately need it for
my paper assginment for the weekend. I was told to use an eraser on
the contact points, but this hasn't worked to any degree of
success. If anyone has any help please let me know, cause I need a
remedy quickly. Thanks for your help

Anybody have an idea what this means? I tried to search, but I
couldn't find anything specific. I was using a Canon 75-300mm 4-
5.6/f, and switched lenses to clear the problem. What on earth is
going on with my camera when is says that? Error 99 does not sound
like something positive is going on inside the Rebel.
Thanks for taking the time

I upgrade awhile ago on my Elan 7 from the kit lens to the 50mm 1.8 and it blew me away. Get away from that kit lens, anf you'll never EVER regret it. The shots i get outta this thing (still) blow my mind. Trust me. the colours are ridiculous.

Hello Everybody.....
Ok...so heres my delimma. I plan on heading up north tomorrow
night and the weather is supposedly going to be quite good for night
shots. First I'll run you down what equipment I have:
EOS Elan 7e,
EOS Digital Rebel,
28mm f/2.8,
50mm f/1.8,
My questions are....
how will my rebel perform for star trails? I know I should be
using my wide angle wide open or possibly one stop down, but I'm
wondering how my star trail shots will come back with my 28mm set at
f/2.8 for about 2 hours? and what about a shorter time, like 20
minutes? Without question I'll be setting my ISO at 100, but a
longer exposure isn't really an option since the battery only lasts
about 2.5 hours.
Will I get better results if I were to pick up some Velvia 50 and
use the Elan instead?
Also, what effect will a circular polarizer have? I know it
removes a stop of light, so I'm wondering how a really long exposure
will turn out and what effect the polarizer would have on my
foreground.
Any insight to any of these questions would be absolutely fantastic
and appreciated. Take care, and I hope to hear your thoughts soon.

I'm finding that my camera (EOS Elan 7E) tends to be pretty accurate
when metering, yet I find that sometimes I get an incorrect exposure
with several of my lenses. I've been told that using a seperate
light meter is a good idea, so I was wondering if any of you know of
any good ones that are of good quality, and relatively inexpensive
as well....I just don't want to blow some money for one and get a
crappy meter in return. Any responses would be helpful. Take care.

Is there some sort of adapter or converter in existence that would
allow me to use old manual k-mount pentax lenses on my EOS Elan 7e?
Just a query I was wondering about. I'm not worried about wether or
not I can use auto focus or what have you, I'm just wondering if its
possible to take pictures with an old lens on a new camera. Any help
would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hey Everybody,
My uncle recently gave me a Pentax ME Asahi manual SLR from years
back when he used to use it for dental photography at his office.
With it came a 100/4 SMC M-series Macro prime and an SMC 45-125mm
zoom. All are in pretty good condition. Am I gonna enjoy the
results compared to my Canon EOS Elan 7e with 50mm/1.8? I know I'm
going to have fun shooting completely manually, but I'm wondering if
the pictures are going to be sub-par by comparison. And any other
cheap but functional Pentax lenses you can think of that would
benefit this new SLR? Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Happy Shooting.
Digital Rebel and 420ex query
in Canon EOS Mount
Posted
Hey Everyone,
I'm just wondering what problems, if any, I'll run into if I were to
purchase the 420ex speedlite for my Digital Rebel. I have an Elan
7e, but I'm wondering how the 420 will respond to the Rebel when it
doens't have flash compensation. I know I can get a firmware hack
to combat this problem since the warranty is already expired on my
digital, but are there any more problems associated with this
combination, other than the lack of flash compensation? Thanks for
the input everyone.
