Richard Cochran--I have an AIS Nikkor 50mm 1.4 lens for my FM3A--it was recommended by the sales guy at B & H in Manhattan. When you say that the AIS can only be used with an FA (or FG), does that include the FM3A?--or could I have gotten an AI lens instead?

After reading your reply, Al Feng, I checked-out my FM3A with its 1.4 lens, and found the same thing you did. I wonder if there's a remedy for this? What has Nikon said about it? I went to the Nikon website but it was slow as molasses, so I'm going to call them.

Hello. The AE lock on the Nikon FM3A is awkward to use because you

have to put your finger between your face and the viewer--which makes

it difficult to frame your picture as accurately as you'd like because

you can't get your eye as close to the viewer as when you don't use

the AE lock. How have people dealt with this? Thanks.
