Thanks Marcus, I have explained the situation to a genuine Contax repairman in Hamburg, He asked me to put the camera at exact 2.0m from a wall, at focus the top left display showed 2_2 meter. This was enough for the repair man to determine it was a rangefinder adjustement problem.
Midwhile I have found out that also the 45mm and the 35mm gives same result on the G2, I didn't often use the lenses at f2 or 2,8 so I didn't notice.
All lenses I have perform outstanding on my repaired and updated G1, even the 90mm perorms outstanding.
So the G2 is in a box and will be shipped tomorrow towards Contaxs in Hamburg for a adjustment under warranty.
I hope this will settle the problem and I can start enjoying the G2.

Hi,
This problem is often mentioned as the phantom issue.
I have a G2 and I like to shoot with shallow dept of field. Since a
few weeks I have a 90mm, and all shots are missed.
I do understand how to focus this camera, but I see on all negatives
a shift in focus approx. 0,5, to 1,0 meter behind the subject.
It seems that I do not have this problem with the 45mm and the 35mm.
Does someone had the same problem? Suggestions?
It is quit difficult to get fast service here in Belgium, I had to
send back my G1, it was on his way for 8 weeks. :-(

Thanks Ted,
The goal is getting into proper BW and learning about the zone system, I start a course next week to get into this.
So the lens bein not coated is not a problem.
Kind regards

Hi,
I have picked up a Cambo SC with 13x18 and 4x5 back including
compendium for 320$. After some looking around I found a Goerz Berlin
DAGOR 15CM/6.8 series 4xxxx including compur shutter for 160$
Will this combination be of any good? Does somebody have experience
with this lens?
Are there rolfilm back available for this camera?
Kind regards

I have the classic focus problem on my S2a, I have adapted a Kiev
screen. I had some problem to keep the ground glass in place and have
ruined a film by taking test shots on different distance.
Instead of spoiling another test film I want to use a ground glass in
a empty back to check focus directly on the film plane.
But, I don't see how to cock the body without film prior to open
shutter in bulb mode.
help...

I have problems getting focus with my F801s. I have a zoom 35-105
Nikkor AF lens, when zooming in the AF works reasonable correct, but
zoomed out it doesn't lock correct. Also with my 2,8 28mm AF d lens
it doesn't lock correct. There is most of the time a certain offset
between in focus manually and in AF. Is this a known problem, is the
AF something that can be adjusted?
Or is this a lens problem?
Suggestions?

I want to use slow sync, but I don't see how to do on my F801s. The
Nikon Flash Guide says it is not the same as the rear sync. Tough I
use a SB24, this flash doesn't fire monitor bursts.
Does the MF-21 back provide this function?
On my F601m, it is possible to set on the camera.
Suggestions anyone? (don't answer to use the F601m :-) )Kind regards

using my foto beast, the battery is drained completely empty. Is this

I found a brand new Kiev prism on Ebay, wow, such a clear prism for only 50!!! Quality is outstanding, no problem with paint on optics. I guess you need a bit luck by not having a monday or friday piece, or a piece out of the hands of a vodka lover. :-)

Mmm, After opening my Bronica, surprise! There is no ground glass, only a plastic fresnel. And this is kept in place with a slider instead of two screws as described in the Sam Sherman file. Does my Bronica mis something, or are there different types?
kind regards
Ivo

Thanks to all!!
The link to Sam Sherman's pages made some things clear, the foam on the ground glass is in very bad condition, I know what to do. :-)
Thanks again

Hi, My Bronica EC seems to suffer a focus problem. I have a 75mm f2.8
lens mounted. Using the split focus on the ground glass doesn't give
sharp image on paper. When focussing to infinity it is not possible
to get a line unbroken on the split focus by turning the focus ring
to infinity.
The focus ring have a 75mm and 100mm distance scale, does this means
that a 150mm lens needs an adapted focus ring?
Is it possible that the focus ring need adjustment?
Could it be due to miss alignement of the splitted mirror?
Sugestions?
Kind regards

Hi,
I have recently found a nice Bronica EC on Ebay. The camera came with
the prism finder with the uncoupled TTL meter. The meter doesn't read
correct if I compare with my Lunasix.
The model (or serial) of the prism is TL15134.
I don't see clear how to set the dial of the meter. There is the
outside dial wich allows to set a value between 2 and 8. (Min F of
used lens?) The second ring sets the diafragm? And the third ring is
a combination of ASA setting and shutter setting (pull the ring for
ASA setting).
On the bottom of the prism I spotted to electrical contacts, wich
have a kind of socket on the EC body, so there is electrical contact
between the prism and the body?
Is it possible to calibrate the prism meter?
Kind regards

Hi,
I have buyed a nice Rolleiflex 2.8 planar, according the serial it
should be a model D. (1602829) Alltough it has the flat EVS dial
instead of the push button wich is said on a earlier forum that this
indicates a model E??
But question is: How do I change the ASA setting reminder, the little
thing in the centre of the focusing knob only changes the reminder of
the type of film.
Someone?

If it is Fungus, how do I get rid of it?
-
Hi,
I have a Rolleiflex Planar 3.5E.
When I look in the taking lens with a light source at aprox 90
degrees on it, I see small stars in the lens, not in the coating or
on the surface but somewhere in the lens. It looks like a 3D tiny
universe. Does somebody know what it is? It isn't a black spider web
thing, so I assume it is not fungus.
What is the defenition of HAZE?
I have shot a roll of BW, hope this will reveal no real problem.
Kind regards
Ivo

Hi, I have a few Rolleiflexes and cords. Recently I have acquired a
Rolleiflex 3,5E with a built in light meter. I hade some questions
and have found some answers here, except for this one: on the top of
the meter module there is a small fingertip screw wich make turn a
small disk with symbols as a sun, a floodlamp, the enscription COL.N,
wath does this means and how to use it? (Sorry for my poor English)
Kind regards

D2H studio flash sync failure
in Nikon
Posted
Hi,
Last photoshoot I used my D2H for the first time together with a
studio flash system. I used an Elinchrom 600 set and a normal sync
cord.
After some pictures the flash stopped working, tough the camera went
on shooting. After waiting a bit and shutting off and on the camera,
it worked again for ten or twenty pics, then the sync stopped again
working, etc etc.
I tried the sync contact on the body as well the hot shoe with the
nikon adapter.
I found out that the D2H use 6V sync voltage and the Elicnchrom use
12V, possibly the camera's cirquit protection tripped?
Does someone had the same problem?
Or maybe it is a problem in the strobes system?
