Has anyone tried both the Sigma 15-30mm and the Sigma 20-40mm on a
Nikon? Any difference in sharpness and contrast? I know the focal
lengths are different, but I was wondering what the difference was in
the 20-30mm range, if any.
Thanks.

I've had the same problem with my D100, which I got a few months ago. It tends to underexpose by 1 stop relative to an ambient or incident light meter reading, especially in the shade and when using filters. Drives me nuts. Please let me know if anyone had success with 2.0. Thanks.

Hello, I'm an amateur so I was wondering if there were any pros out
there who could help me with a problem. My problem is this: I've
taken a lot of pictures on my Nikon F3HP and my Nikon Nikkor 35-70mm
2.8 lens. I primarily shoot Tri-X 400 either at 200 or 800 (depending
on what I'm shooting). For every picture I take, however, it seems as
if the pictures are not as sharp as those I see posted at the
photolabs, especially those headshot pictures. I've tried everything
I can to increase sharpness including stopping down and increasing
shutter speed. Does anyone know why those headshots always come out
so crisp? I've had my lens and camera recently serviced so I don't
think there is a problem with my equipment. Any advice to an amateur
on how to increase the sharpness of my photos would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Dan

Hello,
As you know, the Nikon D100 ccd sensor has a 1.5x magnification
factor as a result of its size, so the focal length of all of my
lenses become multiplied by 1.5x. Therefore, to get a ~35-70mm lens,
I bought the recent Tokina 19-35mm wide angle. I've taken quite a few
pictures with this setup (D100/Tokina 19-35), but have found my
images to not be very sharp (even with the D100's auto sharpening
function). The D100 is very sharp with a prime macro lens (like the
85mm Nikkor Macro or the Sigma 105mm Macro), but on the Tokina wide
angle, my sharpness suffers. Sharpness also suffers on my Tamron
telephoto (that's expected though), but I can't figure out why this
is so on my wide angle. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Dan
what lenses do you guys use for weddings? the most used lens?

I only use 4 lens on my Nikon for weddings
70-200mm 2.8 (VR)
17-35mm 2.8 -- or 12-24mm if I'm shooting digital
85mm 1.4 (for indoor natural light shots)
50mm 1.8 (for indoor and group shots)
I carry 2 bodies with me at all times. When I'm shooting outdoors, I have on the 70-200 and 17-35 (or 12-24). Indoors, I have the 85mm 1.4 and 17.35mm 2.8. I switch to the 50mm only for portraits.
Hope this helps.
