Where did you take this in Death Valley? I didn't see anything like this in mosaic canyon.

Taken at 5:45PM, Oct 2005 with the original Canon 1Ds, 24-70 lens at
45MM, f5.6, 1/8sec. The water fall was not much more than a trickle,
suerprizing there was any water at all due to the time of year.
Thanks for the comments.

I was looking through some old RAW files to see if CS3 could improve
the photos over the CS1 version. I adjusted shadows and highlights to
keep cloud details and bring out the walkway details. So out to you
the lions and tigers for critiques.

Wow, I like this. The Plastic coating filter was the right thing for this shot. A piece of art at this point.

I kind of like the softness caused by the fog in this image. I
usually go for more vivid scenes, but this makes a nice wallpaper for
my notebook PC. Comments are appreciated. Thanks Steve

Stephen,
The foreground tree is actually two trees, the shorter one is bright yellow so it makes the tall tree appear to be dark at the top. Unfortunately there was no way to move the big rock or the tall tree to let the sun hit it too. ;>)
I attached a close up of the double shadow line. It appears there must be a tree or something behind the rock that caused it. No manipulation on my part. again nothing I can do about if I want to keep the picture honest.
Thanks for your comments.

I seem to always hit this spot in the late afternoon. I guess because
it is the last stop on the way out of the valley. Taken yesterday
Oct 20, 2006. Not enought water over the falls to be seen in this
small size, but can be seen in the original. Thanks for looking ....

Taken yesterday afternoon 10/20/06, just after the sun set behind the
big rock on the right. I think the lighting is interesting, but does
anyone else? Thanks for your comment.....Steve

Intersting effect. Zooming with shutter open?

Good stepup for a nice sunset shot. Try cloning out the sign, it might make a real nice fine art piece. 6/6 from Steve in Aromas

6/6 Very well done, it would have been a 7 for aesthetics, except it appears to be slightly dark, a minor adjustment. Could be your monitor needs a a little brightness calibration. Kindest Regards Steve

Interesting shot, but the color manipulation disturbs me. Kindest Regards... Steve

This could use some sharpening as the bottom half appears rather soft. You also might try recovering the blown highlights by using photoshop's shadow/hightlight filter. Good luck and kindest regards Steve

My attempt to make an art piece from a photo. Best viewed larger.
Comments and suggestions? Or should I just toss it out? Steve

Taken a few days after the park reopened (after a flood)in May 2005.
The high water enabled me to get the nice reflection of the falls.
Thanks for comments Steve

I like your colors! Well done.

This would make a nice large (very large) picture for hanging in a business. Good work!

Taken along Hwy 138 with the sun behind me. That is new pavement
and it sure was black with the polarizor. Thanks for the comments...

Theo, You are right about the JPG compression (to keep a reasonable file size for photo.net) messing up the sky. I can assure you it is not in the tiff made from the RAW. Steve

Original, but my own tastes run toward bold colors. Loved your canyon patterns.
