Michael and Theodore, thank you so much!
Michael - yes, it is haze and I see that now. Nice correction.
Theodore - well, I hoped for deer shots that day and these guys helped me out. I had a bunch of failed tries too - you must be familiar with that.
Again, thanks for the nice comments!

The deer and the tall grasses at VF made me sick several years ago.
Now that I am better, I am again drawn to take pictures of them.

Thank you so much for the comment! Truly appreciated. I looked at your photos and love the landscapes. The single photos are, interesting. Best to you, Susan

I tried cloning out the tree branches, but like it better with. Do you?

I had the flash on accidentally when I took this, but liked the resulting
balance of flash and skylight. I've tried cropping in various ways, but
ended up leaving as is. I rejected it at first because of the tree growing
out of the first canon, but maybe it is okay? Thoughts?

These young men were filming there in the park near where I was taking
pictures. I liked the way they were silhouetted against the upward road.

Last weekend I went later, nearer to sunset. But the light wasn't shining on the bridge, giving it that alure that I saw in this picture, although I got a new self-portrait on the bridge. I decided to try again yesterday, this time, taking care that the ISO setting is the lowest on this compact camera. I think that helped a bit. I tried a variety of spots. I like this one maybe the best as it is inside the shady area and doesn't include the "thing". There's another vertical one with more mottled grass, but although it is better overall, it doesn't have that come here appeal of the original. Several shots had horrible glare. Anyways, I will probably keep trying until it is right.

I've been trying to capture these little soldier statues over several visits
to the chapel. Having the lights on at the alter area made this possibility
a lot better. Thanks for you thoughts...

thank you for the critique. I have cropped and the statue is more prominent, but what do you mean by opening the white tones?

Through the chapel arches at Valley Forge.
Perhaps I should have been slightly to the left, but what do you think?
Is it okay?

Very graceful. I particularly like the long leaf wrapped around the tulip stem, kind of against the perfect arrangement and yet working right along with it.

The flowers are so tiny, it makes the branch look huge. Thanks...

Mike, thanks so much! I appreciate the explanation. Looks like I have even more to learn.

Mike, I see contrast and crop, but how did you get rid of the "thing"?
I mean, I wanted to do that, even started cloning, but it looked really strange.
Your's looks great.
thanks, Susan

how can I correct the problems in this picture? thanks for any ideas!

any thoughts on this? I decided to try to find abstracts in my kitchen
and this blue and clear candle holder seemed like a good candidate.

anyone have a comment?
This is from the side of Washington's Chapel at Valley Forge National Park.

To be honest, this was an unintentional part of a larger picture. Isn't that the
way it often happens?

I think the slightly tilted horizon adds to the washed out dreaminess. Nice quiet colors for a change. : )
landing, lights, squiggles

There were several crazy squiggle light pictures I got during landing at
the end of my recent trip. I liked this one the best.
