Hi all, I am looking to start working with an assistant in the NY
area. I have a wedding coming up on April 29th in NYC. Where I
would like to have an assistant to setup a projector, watch
equipment and of course learn the business of wedding photography to
eventually work with us as partners. This is an excellent
opportunity for new enthusiasts who wish to embark on a new and
exciting task of wedding photography. You will get a chance to work
with experienced professionals and learn the "trics of the trade"
Anyone interested please contact me at studio@ttmpv.com or feel free
to reply back to this posting.
Sincerely,
Greg Khitrov

I use American Color Imaging with great success for over 5 years.

Scott,
For years I have been using American Color Imaging, their prices are excellent and they offer fantstic quality.
They also help you with packages allowing you to use your creative side while they deal with ordering and organization.
You can check their website http://www.acilab.com

Steve,
Good job in going with Monoco, once you calibrate your monitor profile will change and that's good keep it that way, on your Adobe, keep the sRGB. You will be fine.

Here is a trick that I have learned to enlarge my photos past 30".
I keep my dpi at 250-300 whatever your lab reccomends for printing. Than the only thing I change, and this is important, I increase the % size 110%. This trick is to add gradually. And you will see that your enlargements soon become large enough past 30", for me personally I don't do anything past 30" but I can understand if someone asks.
Try it you will be impressed, to make my life easier I have made an action to increase my image size by 110% each time. Please remember to change the % only not the size itself.
Good luck

Paul,
Generaly I love to use 3200 ISO but only if I know I am going to use these images as B&W. The grain looks real good for black and white photo, but if you need to fix a shot that you have already done, I use Noise Ninja, it does a decent job here is the example of your shot through noise ninja.

Yep, I think that's the problem mine says O1A on my Q13Dw TTL adapter. So I am hoping that this is an older TTL adapter which BH happened to sell me.

For the first time I have tried the QT5D on my 1Ds body, not Mark II and have used it successfuly on my 20D. After few shots my camera started acting weard. The shutter was sticking and that the "error 999" I have reinserted the battery and tried shooting, same thing happened again, the D13W adapter was lit up constantly. Placing 580 or 550 back onto the body none of the above problem have showed up.
Did anyone experience this phenomenon? Do I need to contact Quantum or Canon people?

Pavel,
Thanks correct and I agree with you. They ask for support and I just payed them, the price is very, very low well worth what you get back.
Thanks for pointing it out.

YEHHHHH!!!
Remember the posting
(http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00DlGK)I have made a
week ago asking if anyone know a comercial software that will
automatically read through all your files and pull out only the ones
that your client has selected in a brand new folder, saving you a ton
of time... I appearently had it all along...
IRFANVIEW is a free program that allows you to batch convert, resize,
rename and also pull out files based on the text file that you input
and create a brand new folder for you only with those images that your
client have selected. the best thing is that it is free...
check it out http://www.irfanview.com
Happy shooting.

I think the responses from this forum thread will help.

I shot and still shoot with EOS 3, if you need very good weather sealed camera go with 1V, but EOS 3 is a workhorse I had it for 8-9 years while shooting weddings.

Tate and others who complain about digital color reproducibility. You probably do not shoot in RAW format, I use 20D and 1Ds, I have shot weddings exclusively with Medium format up to 3 years ago, now I am exclusive digital and the color reproduction does match well with some of my film jobs. Contrast and sharpness lagging a bit, but for weddings it is fine, aspecially when you can batch correct for both using PhaseOne.

Thank you Mikko for that suggestion,
I am going to give it a try.

Ann,
I think Labprints is a great choice for those who let someone else design the albums for your. However, I handle the design of flush albums myself and it takes some time to go through 1500 shots that I take during the wedding to choose 100-150 shots that will go into an album, I think it would be allot more time efficient if the software teased out all the files from the folder based on the inputed txt file and create either a zip files with all of the files or just a plain new folder only with those files which were depicted by the client.

So Frank,
That is exactly what I am talking about, however, since I am cripled in unix, will the compiled program work in Windows?
Greg
-
Thank you, I guess it was not clear.
Let me try to clearify myself.
My clients send me a text file which contains all 100 or more names of files for example AFV001.jpg and so on. What I would like to do is to load this file into a program, point to the directory where all my photos for this particular client reside and let the program create a new folder which will contain only those files which were depicted by my client.
Greg

Hi all,
I have been trying to find a program that will help me automatically
tease out photos from my main folder when my clients send me a list of
files (photos)to choose from for their album.
Can anyone reccomend me an automated tool or we should rely on C++ and
DOS to write our own scripts?
Thank you
Greg
Wedding Albums From Mpix?

I would not use Mpix, if you want to give it a go,
Arista Albums in NY do a great job with their hard cover leather bound flush mount books, if you want something cheaper, you can try the Epixel, or PE Photo.

Good Luck.
