A view from the right of Yoke, Ill Bell, Froswick and Wansfell which

are 4 of the Wainwright fells of the Lake District, Cumbria, England,

UK. Heaven itself almost. Hope you like. This image has been

converted to black and white in RAW then platinum toned in Photoshop.

If this picture looks grainy it is. The digital effect replicates

that of infra-red film. It is meant to look this way.

    Pike at Sunset

          1

Rivington Pike a few minutes before sunset. For your interest the

building on top of the pike marks the location of a beacon. A

recorded lighting of the beacon is on the 19th of July 1588 when the

Spanish Armada was first engaged in the English Channel.

  3. This shot was taken on 26th February 2007 from Castlerigg Stone

Circle, Lake District, Cumbria, England, UK. The ancient stone circle

is thought to date from around 3000 B.C. and consists of 38 stones,

some of which are shown in this shot.

  5. This is a view from Castlerigg Stone Circle, north toward the summit

of Skiddaw Little Man, Lake District, Cumbria, England, UK. My wife

and I had climbed Skiddaw, earlier the same day, which although

higher than Little Man, is hidden in this shot. The hill in the right

    foreground is Lonscale Fell.

Your comments, ratings and critiques all welcome.

  6. This is a shot of the incredible Temple de la Sagrada Familia, the

work in progress of the now deceased architect and artist Antonio

Gaudi. Building commenced in 1884 and is still in progress today,

expected to near completion in about 30 years time. This building

often referred to as a Cathedral, does not I understand, belong to

any particluar denomination. I expect that some churches will lay

claim to the building upon completion, not least because it is

spectacular and is certainly more than worthy of the title of

cathedral and cost them nothing to build.

The building is kept alive my charitable donations alone and from

that point of view my belief is that no denomination can lay rightful

claim to the building. People of all religious faiths and aetheists

flock to see this building, which is a Temple for the people of

Barcelona, nay, the World. Max Zappa

  7. This image submitted under architecture, since these are the chimney

pots found on the roof of La Pedrera, one of the famous Gaudi

buildings which can be found in Barcelona, Spain.
