I'm gonna guess you're a leftie. I like the shot and the color tone to it, but don't care for the out of focus foreground, at least in this composition. I'm also not sure what the almost vertical line is near the top center.
The S-curve formed by the body looks nice, maybe move that up a little higher in the composition and try to get more depth of field? Very nice though.

I'd like to see a little more of the left hand too, but like Mingus in the background. A player like this will mostly look down on his fretboard so you won't be able to get any more light on his face (I'm a bass player too). Nice job.
