Thanks for the comments. I was just fortunate with the way the exposure turned out. It was taken right at sunrise, with cloud coverage filtering the direct sunlight. I took an exposure reading from the sand. The light in the foreground was a natural reflection from the sand and water. No filters or post manipulation was used, and this is the original shot, no cropping done. Your sunset shots are lovely. You might want to also try zooming in closer to give the sun more predominance. Good shooting!
